I've been to the dealership in Lancaster Pa . , & have been in contact by email since . The latest thing I was told by the saleman was that he heard that Dodge was thinking of making the SRT-4 a 2004 release , & that they might not see any until August because of that . Now , obviously I've been searching over the net for news of this car , & it's also obvious that it's not a 2004 release . Is this guy a idiot , or does he think I am ? Is this just a excuse for them not having the cars yet ? I'm about to tell them to stick it when they do get it . I'll shop elsewhere ...

I would not do business with them! They should be able to order
one from another dealer if nothing else! Around here, in Portland
Oregon, there were none available in March, but now there are.

Go to the Dodge website, and find a dealer near you who has them in stock. www.dodge.com

Are you in Canada by chance? The SRT-4 is coming to Canada as a 2004... Available in late July.. I've had 3 different dealerships around here quote me that.

Dont feel left out. I work in a dealer and cant get them ordered yet either. Although a guy in Houston claimed they had some. I guess its a zone type thing slowing the process down. This is BS Id rather buy a 2nd year anyway to work any bugs they may have. Chrysler has always seemed to have crappy first year runs in quality and refine as the newer models come in. Kinda like working driveability probs out of the L bodys, then shutting down the car line when they got it right.

Agreed to the point about buying a second year model . This holdup makes me worry about what's wrong with the thing that they won't just release it ? I mean , do other car makers release any of their models like this ? Maybe I should just act my age & go buy a Mazda or VW ...

I have seen 3 or 4 here in town and a dealer in Fl has had a few on Ebay already. They are available, maybe just not in your area.

i think (my oppinion) is that DCX will deplete supplies of 03s in select markets and roll 04s into the remaining ones

I've been looking around for an srt-4 to test drive as well. I have seen one in my area (MD) and it was a customer special order. The official word from the dealer and straight from diamler (ugh pains me to call ma mopar diamler still) is that as of now the srt-4's have only been oficially released in florida and california. They should be released to the remaining dealerships that have applied to be "srt dealers" by the latest the end of may.

Just keep checking in your area. All the dealers I was in contact with kept telling me "MAYBE May or June, we think", and I picked mine up last week here in Central NY.

From what I was told where I picked mine up, the dealers don't really know when they're coming or what colors they are getting - They just show up someday. The dealers do have an idea of how many they are getting, though.

Check the bigger dealers first, even if they're NOT on the SRT-4 list on the Dodge website - The place where I got mine didn't show up under SRT-4 dealers.

Good Luck.

Florida and California are getting a mad flood of them, i think its because thats where the highest ricer populations are. After that, they will trickle into the rest of the country.

That sounds like a fine way to run a business . The dealers don't know when or what they're getting , they just show up ? I have a 3 year old Dakota right now , that I have a buyer for right now . Not 2 or 3 months down the road . What am I supposed to drive while I wait for Dodge to get their act together ? Grumble grumble ...

Oh yeah , about that Dakota . It's 3 years old with 31K miles on it . 4X4 . Other then A/C , it doesn't have any extras . Look on the net & see it's worth about $13K . Go to the dealership & they say I can only get $8K for it cause Dodge is offering a $4K rebate on all trucks . Nice , huh ? Like I said before , maybe I should look at other cars instead of just a SRT-4 ...
