you cant use a 1:1 without some kind of EMS, (megasquirt) he would have to use a RRFPR 4:1, 6:1, etc..

no i think that guy who said that is on target, i dont see why that would be a problem, however idk TD's too well, but for the starions/conquests we use them all the time without a standalone or a tuneable setup at all. I have used them on stock ecu setups and of course used one with my mpi megasquirt conquest swap.

a 1:1 doest raise fuel psi inboost thats why he cant use that without some kind of fmu. pcm wont provide adequate fuel. megasquirt he could though, aturbo car from the factory is tuned forsupplying fuel, say a stratus persay,is not.

what about an 03 stratus sxt?
Would that help as far as room in the engine bay and part that can be switched out?

I think people looking at the exhaust manifolds should look at the 03 and newer Stratus R/T and 02 and older. The turbo on the 03 is different than the PT and SRT 4. The cowl is lower and the turbo needs to sit lower. If you go with a 94-02 Stratus R/T header the turbo will sit down away from the cowl and behind the head. Plus if you use a Mex R/T manifold the turbos can be any standard T3 bolt pattern. The SRT 4 turbo is too small for a boost controler, the factor added a lot of spool slowing to keep it out of surge. The idea of going through the trouble and adding the factory SRT / PT turbo is nuts. I would rather use one from China for $200.

I had a turbo from an SRT-4 that I sold to a kid w/ a Gen1 neon... for a bunch of parts for my old honda, that I ended up selling for ~$600 (the parts, not the car)... so essentially, I sold the turbo for ~$600... good thing it wasn't worth that much... I wouldn't even give the guy I got it from $100 for it... and it was NIB when I got it.

Why in god's name did "they" decide to make the turbo spool in the opposite direction from every other (normal) turbo in the world? On top of that, they integrated the hot side housing AS PART OF the exhaust manifold, and used a V-band on it. Whatever. It made me a good buck, and that's all that was necessary.

Beats me my friend with the stratus his was a 96 or something i forget exact year, he decided from the info and all we got it seemed too much of a pita!!! not to mention i dont think his engine would have taken boost too well it wasnt too sound anyway and high mileage. He didnt wanna spend money on an engine and didnt realize the other money he would be spending as he assumed he could use the stock injectors and fuel pump etc. All that would and or should have to be upgraded.

looking at this thread i finally know why it's hard to find more upgrades for my car!
about the turbo, in my car is stock, i am actually having some issues in the manifold, some leak around there or in the exhaust system, other than that if you are able to find a turbo to load up your car, do it, worth it in my opinnion.

I have a stratus 2.4 in my Omni. I've been running it on MegaSquirt since installing it 2 years ago. I'm just about to toss an SRT4 turbofold onto it and start running some boost. To do that safely with the stock compression (the bottom end is plenty stout, it's just the high compression that's the problem) I'm converting to E85 at the same time.. 100lb injectors, Walbro 255 that might actually reach it's limit.. MegaSquirt FTW.. :)

it's indeed a 2001.

Dude it might sound crazy, but you can find OEM parts here in MTY MX for the turbo that goes in the Sebring or Stratus, looking at the fact that "peso" is less than the "dollar", it might as well be cheap for you. I do believe that the turbo for the PT Cruiser R/T is basicly the same for the Stratus, since is the same engine and such.:)

Yeah, very crazy. Mexico is not the safest place right now.

As for the turbo Stratus, they used a normal turbo with a normal T3 flange on a log manifold. The PT turbo is just like the SRT4 turbo, it's a turbofold, turbo and manifold in one unit.
