So an SRT-4 finally arrives here in Houston. Call the dealership, they said this one was taken but I could look at it, and if we liked it, we could get the next and only other one that they were going to get. Arrived, saw the car. It was silver, which was originally my first choice, but my husband wanted a yellow one....
anyway, it looked nice, viper seats were cool, but the interior, although better than a neon, still looked a little cheesy. Ask to take it out, salesman didn't want to since the car was kinda sold, and only had 6 miles on it, but we were ready to buy so he says "OK, but lets hurry before they realize it's gone"
Go about a block down, and he tells my husband who is driving,
" turn right here, it's about a mile of uninterupted road, and you can KICK it here" mmmm.... OK!! Spun the wheels through first, wheel hopped bad, first gear was quick, shifted to second, ran through to 4th, ran pretty good, but I was already thinking- 3" exhaust kit, lowered springs, wider wheels/tires, and some other top secret things were have planned here at FWD-P. Get back and we go to settle up on price, since if the new owner doesn't come Monday with the $$$ we can have it. They come out and tell us 21500 plus TT&L, I told them that they quoted me three weeks earlier at 21500 out the door. They say, well that was before we found out we are only getting two SRT-4's so the pirce is now 23,100 out the door. At which point we say OK, thanks, but NO thanks.
So I guess I'll have to call my regular dealership tomorrow and see what's up since I heard they are getting only one (which I was promised months ago, but got tired of waiting)
Later,
Cindy

Airfare to Florida is what, 200 bucks?

Florida dealerships have plenty, going for list price 19500.

As always, Dodge can't sell turbo cars for ****.

Yea, if i knew it was going to take this long to get them in Texas, I would have bought one in Florida 2 months ago. I'm hoping my dealership gets one, because with all the money we spent there in the last three years, I was expecting to get it at dealer cost. But they "forgot" to send their guys to the required training to get the SRt's, and hopefully they got that resolved. Otherwise I might just pick one up in TN on my way to Carlisle this year, afterall I have to take the trailer, and I'm not sure if the race car will be quite ready to go. Heck I might even bid on one I saw on EBAY. I just thought it was pretty funny that they even suggested that we could beat on it during the test drive..
I also thought the car sure seemed small even compared to the 89 CSX we drove up in.

Cindy
