This is for anyone thinking about buying one of these car. As I posted in the other thread about MD/VA. at least one local dealer here is asking 5K over sticker. This is being reported all over the country You have three options when they first roll in and you want one real bad.
Either wait a month til stocks build up and prices drop, negotiate based on the fact you can fly to another part of the country (FL/CA) where there bunches on the lots. Or just fly and drive. I don't know about the CA dealers, but there are at least 4-5 dealers in FL that are used to this kind of transaction. If anyone goes this route, let me know, I can point you torwards some dealers (no I have no stake in them

I paid a $400 dollar FL dealer fee, $200 airfare, $100 gas.

another thing to consider....

If you order the car, the dealer can not charge you any more than sticker. So if your local dealer is being a pain and wanting 5K more than sticker... just order the car. Yes, you might wait a month, but you can not be charged more than sticker for an ordered car.

Good way to do it, posting locals that have them. As far as the month wait thing, by then, the markups should be gone. And since the only options are color and the side airbags (which replaces the Viper style seats with the seats from the R/T) , theres not a whole lot to choose from. See, what's going on is that dealers just get them on the truck, they are finding out when the truck shows that they have one. I still don't think our local folks can order them, just take your money and put you on a list for when they come in the door.

Swift Dodge has something like five in stock. All colors, No mark up. If your in the Sacramento area you can't get a better deal anywhere else.
