My stage one car spikes to 19 and settles to 16 at redline on stage1 without an overboost code. EGT's are a hair shy of 1600 at redline, fuel return is on the car but not hooked up yet, waiting for a trip to the dyno and I've got a map clamp that I made a few years ago sitting on the shelf. I just don't find it wise to bypass the TIP sensor, yes the car's may seem to run ok, but it's there for a reason. When you clamp the map sensor you don't remove it from the loop entirely, you selectivley limit it's output. I would much rather use another clamp (that you can build for $5-7 from radio shack parts, the same as the dasmopar one) on the TIP sensor and just limit it's output on the high end rather than remove it entirely. As far as the PTB issue, I run a pseduo-dual stage setup that works rather well, computer controls the boost until it hits 11 lbs then it switches to 18-19. You now have low boost in first (good for those of us with traction probs) and part throttle driveability back, as well as a nice jump in gas mileage. When I switch from just a MBC to my current setup my MPG jumped from 22-23 to 25-26. Having the ability to pass someone without having to got WOT will do that for you.
On that note, I would like to discuss with you the results of your dyno tuning with a map clamp, what you found to be the best return as far as timingvsAFR, and what changed when you clamped higher or lower than that value, we can talk in here or feel free to PM me. Thanks.
