Pope, if any car with Stage 1 is running 21 psi, that is NOT the Stage kits fault. Stage 1 should not see any more than 15 psi max, under summer max hot conditions. That car, if it only has Stage 1, is broken, plain and simple.

Warranty is not simple, it depends on your service advisor and your mods. You could get a guy who does not care and will get you a new motor with slicks, an AGP kit and timeslips all over the seat. You could get one who spots wrench marks on your heatshield bolts and goes for your warranties throat.

Personally, I know the Stage kits were tested using the exact same durability/reliability matrix the stock car did. They have worked for me. I have used all three kits in mine, over 60K miles. With the exception of having to get my Stage 1 reflashed twice becuase Flight Systems dorked it (all overnight shipping, covered by Mopar), it's been 60K of bolt and go driving.

Would bigger injectors do the same as raising the fuel pressure?

on a 03' SRT 4 going to a 04' or stage 1 injector with the stock computer would work. But most bigger injectors are way to big to add. The old cars the 2.2/2.5 you can just add +20s, SRT 4s don't have that yet.

First break it in properly, don't be scared to flogg it thou, go ahead and give it some oomph and accleartio.
Then i suggest you start with the basics, such as a Cold Air Intake or SHort Ram and also get a Short Throw Shifter.

Enjoy and Congrats

You were saying i should add 10psi of fuel pres. with the big spearco and 3" exhaust.I don't think anyone makes fuel pressure regulators for the srt4.

I don't see how a short ram or cai would be better unless somebody shows me proof. But the short throw shifter sounds cool. It's in my wish list but for now i think this engine is capable of so much more so i'll concentrate on that for now.The sts will be for when i get the engine where i want it to be.And thanks i am enjoying the car and it's well broken in but no hondas want to race me...why?

I would recomend the short throw now, if you are considering it. Takes alot of getting used to!

Dio - congrats on the purchase, white is very cool. Have had my SRT-4 for a little over a year. Runs great, trouble free and puts a smile on my face.

To The Pope & GLHS 837. I really enjoy your exchanges. Even though you often disagree there is still a lot of info in your collective posts - thank you.
As a result take a look at my mod plans in a new thread and give me your thoughts.

the SRT 4 has a heavy duty diff and weak gearing. The short thow shifter can cause allot of broken / bent shift forks. Remember, these things don't come with Getrags. A Getrag loves power shifting hard, actually has a problem with normal shifting. The SRT 4 T850 turbo desiel mini van trany is like an early 525 gear box. O course the forks are easy, right on top, but still they bend. Would be nice if they made HD shift forks. I would consider solid bushings, they help with shifting. Both SRT 4s here have had the tranys out of them to fix shifting, my brothers had to be completely replaced from power shifting. Las Vegas street racing is tough on them lol.

Sorry Pope, I disagree. They cant stand abuse, agreed, but in proper usage they are fine.
Force it, you'll break it. If breaking the car is more important than losing the race, then your gonna break them. Lots of bone stock trannys with original shift forks suviving just fine behind +300whp cars. With STS's, I might add.

I know theres a ton of broken ones out there, but almost every time, the owner also reports forcing the shift to third.
