Force it, you'll break it. If breaking the car is more important than losing the race, then your gonna break them. Lots of bone stock trannys with original shift forks suviving just fine behind +300whp cars. With STS's, I might add.

I know theres a ton of broken ones out there, but almost every time, the owner also reports forcing the shift to third.
LMAO, *Lots of bone stock trannys with original shift forks suviving just fine behind +300whp cars. With STS's, I might add.*

So ah, how would HP effect shift forks?

*If breaking the car is more important than losing the race*. Well,,,,, both I've been working on here are raced at the drag strip and autocrossed weekly. It isn't a matter of beating that one guy at a stop light, they are physically raced. And yeah it is fun to bring home first place trophys. One more thing, if you drive like your grandma as a slow driver not into racing why are you buying a short throw shifter? If not trying to go fast which is to say your actually trying to WIN, then what is the point of spending money on a short throw? You take your time with shifts and then hammer it, like your driving with a 525 and shift forks won't ever bend. You power shift them trying for a better time and a short throw will bend and break things allot faster. So "if" winning is what your doing because your actually racing, expect to put the car in the shop with a short throw. Untill some body comes up with new shift forks (wouldn't that be nice).

I mention 300hp becuase most folks willing to go to those lengths are going to push the car. Not many folks mod to that level and drive like grannies. I push mine, its been to the track. Forcing a bad shift will break them. Thats known. Sure cant win after you break one, though. You lose either way. Just one way, you get to go the second round. I just dont agree that STSs break these. Since shifts take more effort, it would mean you have to apply even more force to break it.

Am I the only one who thinks it would be odd to bump fuel pressure on a car that runs SILLY rich from the factory? Everyone else is trying to find ways to reduce fueling....
And it seems MANY find lots of time in going to a 3" exhaust and/or a cutout (as an aside)

The SRT trans is VERY strong....abusive shifter will break it, but it's taking an absolute crap-kicking from uber-hp motors.
