How can I tell the difference between a regular 2.2 turbo Daytona and an Iroc R/t? I just acquired an Iroc R/T and it's supposed to be a twin cam turbo engine, but the engine doesn't look any different than the one on my 89 LeBaron that's turbo charged.

What year? Have a VIN? You may have a VNT car and not an origional DOHC car. Or someone may have swapped on a regular SOHC 8 valve head.

IF it is a 92; You may have a Daytona Iroc which (approx. 250 of them) came with a 2.5 Turbo. (very rare), would look similar to this pic; http://www.pbase.com/rmscott/image/37783434 (note; this one has a few mods on it, but, a stock 92 Iroc turbo would be similar) The Daytona Iroc R/T only came with a 2.2 DOHC Turbo like this one; http://www.pbase.com/rmscott/image/2200724

Look at the VIN for an A in the 8th position. Designates the DOHC TIII motor, if it has that then someone swapped the motor out, if it doesn't have the "A" then look at the posts above re: the rare 2.5 Turbo 5 speed 92 IROCs.

I agree with the above posters, ALL R/T's came w/ 16v DOHC motors.

I know the 92-93 IROC RT has the same engine as the Spirit RT. It has two red valve covers with "Dodge" written on them. I would guess the years before those would have a "regular" turbo engine in them.
If you don't have the correct engine in your car check out the RT mailing list on yahoo - you could find one there as guys are parting their cars out frequently.
