ok here is my problum i want to put 3 inch exhust on my r/t from the turbo back all high flow. but a guy i work with keeps telling me that it will eliminat all the back presser that i need to keep the engion running right and will cause harm he has me scared. but a friend of mine tells me that it will help with spool up time and wont hert my engion. i need some help anyinfo would be nice and much aprchated. and will it incress top and bottem end or take away from the over all performence of the car?

The turbo 3 engine LOVES open exhaust! You will lose absolutly NO power and the car will continue to run just fine. There are very nice gains just from upgrading the exhaust since the stock exhaust is so choked up, you can see 20+ whp gains! Upgrading the exhaust is usually the first modification done to these cars because there is a lot of power to be uncorked from opening up the exhaust.

So hurry up and throw on the 3 inch exhaust!!!

Open it up man. JayLo has a 3 inch exhaust with a cutout and the car makes 30 something more h.p. with the exhaust cut open over the full 3 inch exhasut, so the more free the better.

Turbo charged motors don't need Backpressure like a non turbo motor. Bigger is better.
