Attention all Spirit R/T owners here on the board. I noticed we dont have a "registery" for our cars on here until now This thread will have a few rules though. I would like you to keep it to a one post only per car. That way the post count will reflect the number of cars that board members have on here. Please include the obvious;year, color, factory options, condition, and milage at the time of the post. Also you can include your list of mods(if any) and a short story of the car if you would like. A pic or two would be cool as well. Here is an example of what I would like to see. It will start with my car..........

White 91 Spirit R/T
PW,PDL,PDS,ABS,Infinity cassette
145K as of today
Mods as of now;+20s,AFPR,cone filter,2.5" open exhaust,150 MPH speedo, boost gauge on column, white powdercoated 15" Pumpers.
This car had been in Oklahoma most of its life so its very 99% rust free and will stay that way. It has the typical factory white paint peel so the primer shows in a few spots but is really in pretty good condition. The interior is in near mint conditon. Heres a pic

Found this one for sale locally on Craigslist. The guy I bought it from was the original owner. The interior is in perfect shape. It needs a repaint and the engine will need a rebuild soon.
  • 4-wheel 11" disc brakes with ABS
  • Fog lights
  • 150 mph speedo
  • Overhead console
  • Illumination Package
  • 'Traveler' Trip computer message center
  • Power windows, mirrors and door locks
  • Power driver seat
  • 15" 5-spoke "turbo" wheels
  • California Emissions

OK. No pictures yet until the family is complete.

1992 Silver Spirit R/T -- "Johnny". Bought locally in Summer, 2004; the seller had it listed on the Spirit R/T registry for over 2 years until I bought it. Cracked the head 3 weeks after I bought it. I now have a matching set of cracked heads from it that I can use either as planters or bookends :-).

1991 Red Spirit R/T -- "Horace". Bought from a seller here on td.com. Actually, my wife fed me some story about going to shop at an outlet mall and this car was my Christmas present for 2005. Spun it into a ditch 3 weeks later. State Farm totalled it, and gave me $4600 for it... their buyback was $300. What do you think I did? A new fender later, he was good to go.

1992 Red Spirit R/T -- "Mo". Bought from a td.com seller last May. Had the car shipped out from Pennsylvania. Hit a deer 3 weeks later. Have brand new grille waiting to be painted and installed.

1992 White Spirit R/T -- "Dr. Z". Bought from eBay 4 months ago. Had the car shipped out from New Jersey. Biggest modification: rust on the fuel rails and injector among other places. Runs very sweet though. (Waited more than 3 weeks to drive it thank you!) Tore 6 teeth off the timing belt last night and will put a new one in this week.

These cars are nothing special right now, in fact they are stored outside because we don't have agarage at all. My wife and I made a decision to get the complete set before restoring them one at a time. So I am looking for a 1991 White R/T to finish (hint hint to those of you above me :-)).

BTW I am often asked about their names:

Johnny and Horace: named for the two Dodge Brothers.
Mo: In 2005 there were Chrysler commercials during the Super Bowl with Snoop Dogg and Lee Iacocca-- Snoop called him "Mofacocca".
Dr. Z: Current Daimler Chrysler Chairman

The White 1991 will be named "Walter" for Walter P. Chrysler, of course.

1991 Dodge Spirit R/T in Bright White (1 of 434)- 153,993 miles

*Power Windows
*Power Door Locks
*Power Mirrors
*4-wheel disc w/ ABS
*originally equipped with Infinity Sound system

Stock as far as mods go for now. The head is currently being rebuilt and having a Stage 2 P&P and Stage 1 cam upgrade from LoneWolf Performance. Also putting a new Cometic head gasket and better BOV. Car already had a K&N air filter (that was VERY dirty!) and muffler-less 2.25" exhaust when I got it. Have a FWD-Performance Stage 2 PCM, +40 injectors, and 3-bar MAP sensor that will be installed after car has passed the ability to NOT LEAK after head gasket is installed. Car will be going through a total outside restoration and paint job around June or July 2007.

~~History~~

This Bright White (and rust and primer) Spirit R/T was the first R/T I purchased in January of 2005. It was purchased from a poor family that, according to them, suffered a mysterious engine death and wasn't able to start again. The car was parked under a tree between their trailer and my best friend's parents trailer in Wendell, Idaho for over a year when I first saw it. I asked them around Christmas time what they would want for such a rare car if they decided to sell it, and they said they understood the rarity of the car and needed to find a cam sensor for it, and we left it at that. Well, after New Years, the landlord got on their case for having three cars when their allowed limit was two. They were literally told to pick a car and get it out of there by the next Sunday.

Thankfully, they got ahold of my best friend's mother and told her to tell me that they'd take $ 1000 for it. I agreed to the price for the car, even though it did not run. I figured that I could get a cam sensor and make it start when I could find one. Well, needless to say the cam sensor was not the problem, and it still did not start. After diagnosing the no-start symptoms for over a year-and-a-half, and after replacing the coil pack, spark plugs, plug wires, cam and crank sensors, ASD relay, two underhood wiring harnesses, and four different engine computers, the problem was somewhere not easily found.

Out of angst of having the car for over a year and not having it running and not having checked the pressure plate to see if it was the proper one, I went ahead and yanked the tranny to install a clutch and discovered the car had a Turbo I clutch and pressure plate installed on it that was interfering with half the timing marks on the flywheel. After installing a known-good T-3 clutch and PP, the car started up for the first time in nearly 3 years.

After driving the car for 32 miles, I checked the fluids and noticed the oil that I changed after I first got it started was 1.5 quarts low.... and found it all over the back and drivers side of the motor and on top of the tranny.

1991 Dodge Spirit R/T in Indy Red (1 of 774) - Odometer says 121,607, but has been stuck at that mileage the entire time dad and I have had it. An oil change reciept proves around at least 184,000 miles were on the clock as of April 2006 (car doesn't look or act like it though! ).

*Power Windows
*Power Door Locks
*Power Mirrors
*Power Driver's Seat
*Infinity Sound system
*4-wheel disc w/ ABS
(all options but the overhead console)

Car is equipped with a full 3" turbo-back muffler-less exhaust and K&N drop-in replacement filter, as well as an AFPR (dunno what it's set at at the moment...), +20 injectors and a MBC set at 15 PSI.

Dad and I bought this car from Cindy @ FWD Performance in June 2006 on eBay Motors for $ 3300. Dad and I paid half each for the car and dad flew down to Cindy's place in Spring, TX and drove it home to Jerome, ID where it sits today. Dad says it's the fastest car he's ever driven in his lifetime, and the same goes for me!

1991 Dodge Spirit R/T in Indy Red (sort of) - 119,254 miles

*Power Door Locks
*Power Mirrors
*Power Drivers Seat (first time I've seen a power seat get installed without power windows )

No mods.

Found this car get towed up from our used car lot in Elko, NV to Twin Falls, ID back in September 2006. The paint job is mostly crap as the clear-coat is non-existant and the paint is fading to thousands of shades of Indy Red. The head gasket leaks, the turbo coolant supply line leaks, the A/C kicks on but is not cold, the cruise works intermittently, the clutch is very weak, the turn signal module is inop, and one or both of the right-side CV joints make a horrible crumbling noise whenever any serious amounts of torque are applied to them. The interior looks like.... ummm....... I'll leave it at that.

But, despite all the problems the car has, I was able to purchase it for $ 500 including taxes and title transfer fee; not bad for a car that is gonna have a low-milage powertrain yanked out and stored!

Future of the car after powertrain removal is uncertain...

91 White w/ZERO options....and one bizzar past.

Test drove new in 1991, couldn't get folks to agree to co-sign. It sat on the dealers lot 'till Oct 1993 when it was purchased by a older gentleman w/600 "demo" miles. Title data shows car changing hands possibly 2 more times before sitting unregistered for about 7 years which destroyed interior and the cheap warranty re-paint.

Fast forward to 2004....The car ended up at a fellow car guys house and after a little horse trading it found its way to my place with just over 50k miles, which are completely documented. Full restoration planned with many NOS parts on hand thanks to my good friend Bill at Clermont Dodge and eBay.

Not sure how many are in Canada. I only knew of one other that was totaled which turned out to be from my home town of Prince George, BC of all places..go figure and here's another PG boy with one.
Anyways the only nice thing used to be the engine so heres the pritty, shes been down for a couple of yrs and the resurrection has just started. Then I'll drive it around as my daily transport for awhile pretending its fast ...a little td bash
Got it from Jeff in Ohio and tracked down Jason who told me some horror stories of it
Some prettying & bolt ons later, stock injectors, stock turbo, blown hg clocked the dyno at 247 rwhp.

wow some of you have some pretty serious mileage on your r/t's

1991 Red Spirit R/T
99k Miles
Bought in 2005 from original owner with all options (I think?) Run on Mobil 1 its entire life, still stock except for the exhaust and cat (stock exhaust was rusted) I love the car and I've been commuting to school with it but I think it's time to upgrade to something newer and better in the snow. It'll probably go up for sale once I'm done with this semester.

part of me wants to keep it and modify it for some fun, but I don't think I want a real powerful FWD car.
