Weather sucked this weekend, I was bored... Its progress, but nothing major or real cool. lol
A TIII car in its natural habitat.

Painted the charge pipes.... For the time being. I am going to powder coat them once the Holset is in and I am done changing things.
**Before**

**After**

Nothing real impressive. lol But it looks way less half assed

Well, I finally got the motor in the R/T a couple weeks ago, but here are the pictures.

The Z bracket I bought didn't fit, so this was my first attempt to get it to work.

When I had the motor in place, it turns out that the brackets hit the firewall, so this is what I ended up with.

I hated the way my stock turbo coolant line fit, so I found a local place that can build them for me for super cheap. This is what I ended up with.

I was sent a four puck clutch disc that didn't fit, so that set me back a week. But it all got figured out.

I realized that the T3's dont have as many lifting point locations, so Iused an extra long bolt in the top trans bolt hole.

And here is the rear after I got the starter with the heat sheild put back on there.

And the process of lowering it in.

As for the fitment, everything clears now with about 2" to spare. Not too bad. If you look closely you can see one of the bolts from th heat sheild is actually touching the wastgate actuator. So there isn't much room for anything else back there. The exhaust looks like it will line up pretty well with a little cutting and welding of the down pipe I bought.

And thats that. Everything went smoothly considering I did this all by my self. The only problems that I had was the wastegate actuator bracket not fitting. Funny thing was that I managed to do it with out scratching or denting anything, but I noticed as I was finishing up that the radiator was installed the entire time. I never took it out after fabbing up the brackets for it. Anyways, I still have a ton of work to do before it runs. I wont have time to touch it for another couple weeks, but at least I got it all in before the foot of snow we got this week!

That looks really, really good Tyler! Nice choice on all the parts, and good install as always. Cant wait to see it run.

Thanks! It will still be a while before she makes noise, but the hard part is all done.

Yeah, I am sure that there will be a little bit of work involved, but I wont be doing it. Im just going to drive it to and exhaust shop and see what they can come up with.

It isn't much, but monday I had some time to piece together the motor a littl bit more. I really hate all the vacuum lines and the pcv system on the front of the intake, but I am not really sure where else to put it all.

I also had som time to start working on the IC pipes. This is the upper pipe obviously. All I did was put together a few pieces the way I wanted them and had an exhaust shop do the welds. I brought them all back to the shop and ground down the welds and ran them all through a bead roller to give the pipes a lip on each end. These should work great.

I am unsure how I want to finish them. I was thinking that I would just spray it down with some textured semi gloss black paint and see if I like it that way. Then I would eventually powdercoat it all. I am also considering polishing them all by hand. I think that would look kind of cool. I dont want to chrome them though. Anyone have any thoughts?

Decided to go with the wrinkle black IC pipes. I guess they came out okay. For the lower pipe I am just using the stock ic hose with a short pipe to reach the IC. I plan to run a devils own kit with the nozzle in lower pipe so I will make a nicer lower pipe when I get the devils own kit. Since school just started I haven't had much time to work on it. I did finish the vacuum lines though. Can you spot the grainger? Really not much else to do before I try to start her up for the first time. One thing I am going to do is swap out the six port FWDP vacuum block with a four port TU block that I have laying around since I ended up with two extra ports that look strange. Any suggestions?

Mopar "Sport" front struts with some gas-a-just rear shocks. Front tie rod ends and a set of Eibach springs. Should tighten up the susension pretty well.

Well, the R/T is finally running!! I had all day saturday to work on it and she fired up on the first attempt. Oil pressure built to 65 psi immediatly which made me feel good. Since I am only running a down pipe right now it is SUPER loud so its hard to hear much. I could barely hear the lifter clattering a little bit which is what I expected, but everything else seems good. Since I didn't have the radiator in yet I only let it run for a little bit. I spent a lot of the day finishing up a few little pieces that I needed to get the radiator and air box installed.

I was trying to figure out a way to use the stock air box with the larger 50 trim turbo. I found that a a 3"-2.5" reducer elbow will fit down there and make it so you can adapt the stock 2.5" air box outlet to the 3" compressor inlet.

As you can see, the heat shield on the bottom side of the air box was looking pretty ugly, so I made a new one out sheet metel.

I realized that I didn't have anyway to mount my overflow bottle, so I made another upper radiator bracket and notched it so the overflow bottle would slide right in. Turned out pretty good actually. The IC pipes fit perfectly between the radiator and the overflow bottle.

So I had all day today to work on it. I was planning on having the suspension put back together and actually getting it on all four wheels again, but I woke up this morning to find this.

Anyways, this is how she sits right now. I still have a lot of cleaning up to do, but the important this is that it actually runs!

I like your determination. If it's even cold out I won't work on mine... and it's in the garage.
