Awesome picture Cory. You need to get the rest of them loaded up. I only took three pictures! There is always next month though. As for my wheels, they are Enkei Shoguns. They haven't made them for a couple years now, so you will be hard pressed to find them. Because Enkei used to supply all the wheels for Toyota, a couple years of Camary's came with a 16x6 version with a flat grey finish. I would prefer you NOT use them on your car though.

Thats a good question.... When I first got my car, I spent a lot of time researching what exatcly the Pilot cars are. I was never able to come up with anything certain, but from what I have gathered, when a new model of car is introduced, or a new motor is introduced, the factory will builds a few of them for some special purposes. From what I have gathered from a few TDers that worked on the lines, some were used for crash tests, some were used for training for chrysler technicians, other were used for fitment and reliability testing, and some were even used for press photos and chrysler sales brochures. I was told by a chrysler tech (I have his name written down somewhere) that he thought there were five "PVP Pilot" IROC R/T's built (PVP=pre vehicle production). Accourding to my carfax report, my car was sold at a chrysler auction in 94 with 1200 miles on it. So I sort of think my car may have been used for reliability and drivability testing.

There are currently two red cars, a black car, and a white car that have the Pilot Car tags in them. So there is possible another floating around. Accourding to the vin, my car has the second earliest vin recorded on the R/T registery. I believe the black pilot car has the earliest. Interesting to note that my car and cory's white pilot car are two digits from each other, so there was one built between ours. I have not talked to the owner of the other red pilot car, but I would be interested in seeing where his vin fits into this all.

I found a chrysler checkout slip behind my radio, so I think mine was use for them to take out and drive. I will post pics of my pvp plate and the slip when I get home from work in the morning.

I dont know that there is anyone place you could go to for this type of info. I asked around a lot on the old sdml for people that worked in the plants when the R/T's were being built and thats where most of my info came from. Running a carfax is about the first thing you should do.

PVP pilot car plate...

And pics of the chrysler owned vehicle pass I found behind my center console.

I will have to look up my carfax again, but my car was given to one of the chrysler execs. sons. He beat the hell out of it, cracking the no.1 sleeve and then the air force doctor that I bought it from, bought it. Rebuilt the motor, and then sold it to me after about 20,000 miles. Atleast that is the story that the guy I bought it from told me.
