looking for more HP and nearly the same spool up as my current turbo. Hoping a GT3076R is a good replacement for a T04E S50 and a stage 2 turbine.

Hey Guys, thanks for the compliments and info. I got my "Evil Spirit" running tonight. Her name is very accurate - she is a evil car, beat my hands to s*** and bruised my arm. I swear not having a lift is a PITA. I just need to set my fuel pressure and hook up my exhaust. Also, I broke my oil pressure sending unit so I need to pick up one of those.

I'm starting to lean towards the Precision sc6152s. I would be interested in seeing that comparison Larry, Thanks! More pics soon.

GOT HER RUNNING YESTERDAY!!!!!

What a difference the couple of parts I put on made. The engine is very rev happy now with the TI retainers, the valve train is whisper quite with the aftermarket lifters and the turbo is super responsive with the LW ported manifold. The front end gets swirly if I punch it in 3rd gear! I think the TI retainers made the biggest difference and are a must for TIII motors. Pulls 21 inchs vac at idle and no leaks.

I was punching it on the highway last night, looked down and the MPH were climbing like the tach, buried it past 120 and let off - I can't wait to get my bigger turbo =)

Added a heat shield for the intake that I have above the turbo =D It seems to be doing a good job at reflecting that heat down away from the intake. More to come. Here are some pics.....

Okay, so I was leaning towards the Precision SC6152s. The price was 845.00 for the turbo plus I would need to get a atp internal WG + actuator + fab a DP. Total cost would probably be around 1100.00. Being a TD'er I really didn't want to spend THAT much, but I was willing to - hey, speed cost. Anyway, I just bought a BRAND NEW HX40 Holset + HKS external WG for 350.00$ Is this a good price? I am not sure what these turbos are going for new. I would like to get some help/advise from anybody running a holset. Just want to know what i'm getting into or can try to avoid. I was reading the "Holset on a TIII" thread and got some info on there too. I know I will need a new turbine because it looks to have a T4 stock. Which T3 housing will I need for the HX40 and who sells them? Thanks!

Here are some pics

I take it your running one with a Bullseye housing? What other supporting mods do you have(ported head/intake/exhaust)? What boost are you running and at what RPM are you hitting full boost. I'm scared the .55 a/r will be the bottleneck on this turbo. I know how much the TIII loves top end and I would like to have a suitable turbo - but I guess for the price I can compromise.

Well, I know it will choke it off a little, but I plan on porting the hell out of it. So that should help. Plus, I am finding lots of dsm guys that got into the 500+whp range with that housing. So I am hoping it will do ok. Wallce did trap 118 on this thing as well. And I believe that was on a unported head and manifolds. Not sure if he had his cams in or not. The turbo should be a street monster. He was seening full boost by 3700 rpm and was just killing the slicks in 1-2nd gear.
Here is my supporting mod list.
-Aroura 8.5mm wire
-Manual boost controller (for now, Greddy ProfecB coming soon)
-2.5" mandrel bent exhaust
-3" Downpipe dump with electronic dump valve
-Magnaflow muffler and high flow cat
-Turbo XS RFL BOV
-strut tower bar
-AutoMeter boost gauge
-PolyBushings.com poly motor mounts
-Solid bobble strut
-McLeod Revloc Clutch and dual diaphram Pressure plate
-rebuilt A568 trans. from FWD Performance
-B&M short throw shifter
**Engine Build**
-Rebuilt shortblock w/ Venolia forged pistons, polished forged crank, shot peened forged rods with re-drilled tops, sealed power rings, clevite main and rod bearings, ARP hardware, melling high volume oil pump, Ishihara-jonhson windage tray and oil pan baffle, Balance shafts removed.
-ARP headstuds
-Cometic .074" mls headgasket
-LoneWolf performance head with stage one port/polish, radius cut and back-cut valve grind and upgradedGEN3 FWD performance lifters.(Intake=280cfm@.350" Exhaust=224cfm@.350")
-LoneWolf performance stage one cams
-LoneWolf performance ported intake manifold
-LoneWolf Performance ported and coated exhaust manifold drilled and tapped for EGT probe.
-Spearco. 1010 CFM front mount intercooler with mandrel bent 2.5" pipeing
-Fidanza light weight flywheel
-Oil cooler
-FWD Performance Cutsom 3 bar computer calibraton and 3 bar map sensor
-58mm Throttle body
-Accufab AFPR
-58lb/hr injectors
-High flow billet fuel rail
-all -an fuel lines
-Walbro 255 fuel pump
-Holset HX-40pro Turbo
-TurboConcepts 38mm external wastegate (with 1 bar spring)
-Custom 3" mandrel bent Downpipe with external wastegate dump
-DevilsOwn Progressive Methanol injection kit (with m7 jet for the moment)

-Zeitronix wideband o2 meter with wideband o2, egt, boost, rpm, and tps monitoring and datalogging.
-OTC 2000 scanner/datalogger

I am hoping I will be happy with it for the season. I know that bullseye just came out with a .70a/r housing for this thing, which would let me use the full 71lb/min flow ability the compressor has.
Jackson should be done with the downpipe in a few weeks and I willl let you know how it goes.

That's a lot of ***T What are you looking to put down in the quarter mile/WBHP? Sounds like you took no short-cuts and I am sure it will show!! Should be a monster on the street. I really can't remember having so much fun with a sedan. I am running stock boost right now on a stock turbo and my car is amazing. I ran a Charger SRT-8 from a roll yesterday and pulled about 2 cars and stayed there until about 100mph then let off! When he got to light, he rolled his window down - gave me the thumbs up - and rolled out.

I did notice that they came out with a .70 a/r(saw it yesterday). IIRC, it's like 150.00. You got any pics of your turbo set-up that you can share? Thanks man

As far as power, I am honestly not sure. I can safley say, if its not well over 400whp. I may be a little upset. with most of the stuff on that list and the s70 that was on there. It was trapping over 107 for sure. I pulled on a car pretty bad that was trapping right in that area.
Its always fun to get props from cool car people when they realise they are beat!

I do have some pics of my turbo. But Jackson is workning on the downpipe for me so I can put the holset on. I would be happy to post pics of the turbo if you like.

Where did you see the .70a/r housing? I have heard its out, but have yet to find one. It is a t3 flange and the dsm turbine outlet? Do you have a link?

You have an aweseome setup going. And I LOVE those valve covers.

Okay, for anyone looking to run a Holset, look again. BEP discontinued the .55 a/r T3 internal wg housings! Looks like Bansheenut got the last one from Wallace. They do have a T3 .70 a/r housing but it's a v-band outlet, no internal WG option. So, if you want to run one of these you need to run a external WG before the turbo(custom manifold). Unless you can find a used BEP .55 housing. Looks like the DSM guys will be doing good though =(

This sucks because the bang-for-the-buck with the Holset was crazy, i was really looking forward to running this turbo i got. No worries though, there are other options. I talked to David, the owner of Bulls Eyes Perfomance, and he said there wasn't a demand for the .55 housing anymore. The DSM guys, who dominate the Holset market(other than Diesel), wanted a larger housing so they made the .70 for them. Most of those guys are running aftermarket equal length manifolds with external WG anyway, so their golden. Precision to the rescue!!!!!(digging in pockets)
