Hello everyone,

I am trying to fix my a/c in the r/t. The compressor, condenser and the line from the top of the condesor is bad.I know, I know! Anyhoo, I am finding that all the stff is no longer available(what a shock).
What are some options for me? Does an 8 valve condenser fit? Could I replace all of the a/c stuff with a/c equipment from a differnt car and retrofit it in? The r/t compressor is really small. I'm sure someone has had this problem. I know many guys just take the a/c out, but I really would choose to fix and repair vs gut or leave broken. Thank you. Ryan

The "search" function is your friend, stop being lazy

TIII A/C compressor

Condenser should work from plain spirit of same year, far as the lines......contact Cindy @ FWDPerformance or I think jackson has some spares he might part with for the right coin.

The A/C compressor is T-III Specific. The one off a regular Spririt won't fit, due to interference with the intake manifold. I'm not sure about the condenser, but my guess is, they are all the same. But you should be able to pick up the lines and compressor by posting in the parts wanted. Like you said, several people have stripped the A/C out and don't want or need it.
Good Luck.

From what I read, the compressor is the same as a 99 land rover discovery and is available remanufactured for $300. If the condenser is the same as an 8valve, it is available new for $150. I am going to hold a 8valve condenser to mine in the r/t and match them up. I still am unsure if I need lines yet. I may just need a block valve for $35. Looking like for $500 Ill be running ice cold..
I appreciate everyones imput and look forward to any other valuable info.
Thanks. Ryan

Not true! the manufacturer is the the same (sanden TRF-105) but the model number is different(2214 vs. 2216). Also the LR compressor uses 4 mounting bolts and the TIII uses 3. Did you not read the link I gave you

Furthermore, the price to rebuild your compressor from that place went up from 195 to 245

Your right. I will have to send in mine to be rebuilt. I can order the condenser from them and I hear the block valve is best to buy from mopar. I plan on having the a/c stuff taken off the r/t this week or next and really looked over. I ran dye through and the bolt on the compressor is leaking, the condenser badly in the lower corner and the block valve is leaking too.
I may get lucky and only need a condenser if that bolt on the compressor is only loose. I hear there is a little gasket in the block valve.Maybe that gasket is shot. I am getting allot of help here.Thank you all.Ryan

A little confusing here. The 2214 and 2216 models are both mopar units one is the TIII and the other is a full size van. The listing I made for the land rover looks identical to the TIII unit. It does have 3 mounting ears and the line location is the same unlike the dodge van unit. I was unable to confirm the land rover unit as a drop in with a TIII clutch. But searching ebay actions of used land rover units without plugs in the line holes it looks like there is a differance in the casting. I forget if the land rover unit or the TIII has grooves around the holes for O rings and the other does not. Other wise the land rover is the same trf105

Just an update my cheap a$$ still hasn't bought a condenser for my car so my reman compressor hasn't been used yet. Only 3.5 more months of summer down here to go. The ironic part is I have another Iroc R/T sitting in my garage I am working on that does not run and its A/C is still full after sitting almost 3 years and I won't use that condenser go figure.

Update!!!
I did find out the condensers are not unique and is available new. Also the h-block is available new. Believe it or not I got a brand new,yes brand new a/c compressor. Brian slowe did all the work from his shop in Philly. He said a nearby ac shop had it in stock. I now have all new ac equipment and am running ice cold ac in the R/t. It wasn't cheap, but feels great on those humid days. Thanks everyone for your input and help.
