My loved Iroc R/T has been bumped in the rear by a van last monday ,

Nothing terrible, only the paint is damaged. Not 100% sure yet but assurance should pay for the painting job.

Problem is im totaly paranoid about having a poor job done and worst leaving my car into a strangers hands for a few days.
Since i dont know any realy trustworth skilled paintshop that is dealing with assurances....

I know i can do it myself,
so my real question here is :

Anything particular with painting these urethane body parts?

Let me know what you experienced and if you have so trick specific to these.
thanx

(NOTE: i dont want to start a Do-It-Yourself paint VS Leave it to Pros debate . PLS!)

You need to use flex agent in the paint. My buddy here at LoneWolf is the body shop manager at a Kenworth dealership and was telling me thats why I have some cracks in the bumper paint along with they painted over old paint.

Sand the bumper get ALL cracks out and use flex agent in primer the paint and the clear, AND use a GOOD QUALITY PAINT and CLEAR. Dont get to cheap theres a huge difference.

christmas trees are easy to find, what you have to becareful of is the stud strips underneither the tail lamps. break the studs off and you have to remove part of the rear interior to get at them and tack weld new bolts on.
