I'm in St. Louis and need someone experienced to do this for me. Don't have the time or experience to mess with but will gladly pay to have the work done. I'm looking for suggestions from the community on who I can go to. Don't want just any garage working on my '92 IROC R/T. If the better option is to replace the head, PLEASE direct me to the right source. I checked the classifieds, but didn't see any T-3 heads listed. Yes, I have aluminum core plugs which were put in after the original head cracked about 6 years ago. (I think the dealer mechanic over-torqued them) Car only has 65,000 miles so I want to fix her up and keep driving it. Any help or suggestions would be extremely appreciated.
Thanks,
Alan

Probably don't need to replace the head, check out Lonewolf Performance (Wallace, mopar2ya), or Rick Diogo (RDI performance) if he still does TIII work.

Star Machine used to be the place to send them (Brent was the machinists name) but they are gone.

Thanks for the suggestions! However, this means taking the head off myself, sending it in, dismantling the springs, valves, followers and putting back together again. I've done a lot of work on the turbo daytona's I've owned since 1984, but for some reason, wrenching on this t-3 makes me nervous. Maybe I just need a little encouragement. Has anyone posted a tutorial on t-3 head replacement on this site or another? Regardless, I'll give the places you mention a call. Thanks again.

Look at getting some Factory Service Manuals (or copies of the relevant sections) TIII work can be scary, but these help a TON.

PM Wallace and find out if he is able to get the whole intact head and he would do the labor of dismantling the valves, cams, springs and followers for the hourly cost and also send it back to you assembled (again for the extra hourly cost) something you would pay the local clueless mechanic for anyway.

So you would just need to do the remove/install of the head. I think you need a hoist and some PB blaster or other serious penetrating lube for the turbo/exhaust manifold.

Then you need a new head gasket and head bolts (or spend a little extra and get head studs)

After that, then get the timing belt on and centerline the cams (there are write ups for that)

I also nominate Wallace "mopar2ya" for the work.

Contact Jackson, aka Lotashelbys, and see how far you are from him. He could help you take the head off and then ship it to LWP for the repair work...
