Rods yes, pistons no.

(unless you put in a 2.2 crank as well - then you would have a 2.2, not a 2.5)

Stock 2.5 pistons work just fine for the conversion.

No, unless you use an 87/88 tall block..in which case, yes.

Clarity is your friend.

You can use 2.2 t3 pistons with a 2.2 crank to make a 2.2 16v.

However, you cannot use ANY 2.2 pistons in a ANY 2.5 car (unless it is an 87/88 tall block) because they are not the same.

The 2.2 pistons are taller and will come right out of the block when combined with a 2.5 crank.

Stock 2.5 pistons in a stock common block with a 2.5 crank will work fine for a conversion. CC on a 8v head compared to a DOHC head is within 2cc, so compression change is minimal.

I'm very interested. Have any Idea what sort of price we'd be looking at?

Would you also sell the parts seperatly? Like the braided hoses and fittings, cam gears, etc?

Hrm, well, maybe.

Just to let everyone know, dont get too excited as this is still very preliminary.

Anything that happens will not be for several months.

I have been gathering parts for this project for my cargo van. I'd love to see someone make a custom set of cam gears!!

probably the easiest way to make them would be buy a set of 2.0 adjustable and bolt the centers on stock 2.2 or 2.5 cam gears and have a adjustable set, or have cam bushings machined(cheapest)

Since everyone is talking pistons I have a question. Would it be worth the extra money to get forged pistons? I am not planning on running high boost. Maybe 18-20 psi but probably less.
