Who would be interested in buying prebuilt setups? I am considering doing them on a per-order basis.

Basically, it would involve all the modifcations except the
oil passages on the block, for which it would come with simple instructions and the right fittings. Why not the block? Shipping costs and hassle. It is a very simple drill and tap though, and I can even include the tap, correct drill bit, and fitting WITH the instructions. How easy it that?

I have no idea on price at the moment but it will be somewhere between cheap and expensive.

I have been hovering around the board, for a while now, and contemplating this very set-up. What about selling just all the parts necessary and directions too? Not everyone would need the bottom end, am I right?
On a side note these heads are going for next to free. One just went on eBay last night for $85, with 43k and included cam gears and everything. I have also seen whole DOHC cars go for less than $300 complete, ehll I only paid $500 for my 95 DOHC Neon I drive now. I would love to do this set-up, but am too lazy to source many of the parts, etc, so a straight bolt-up kit would be great too!

I was never planning on doing the bottom end, unless someone wanted a complete motor and was willing to pay $$.

>What about selling just all the parts necessary and directions >too?

Here is the situation. Several mods have to be made to the head, and then there is the distributer setup, and the manifolds. If people wantd to do it themselves, they could figure it out or just ask a bunch of questions and try it. However, if you are not technically inclined, or just dopnt want to invent the time and effort doing the work, and finding the parts then this would be something to look into.

I would be doing everything. Fully modded head + correct manifolds, cam gears, and distributor setup.

It would be 90% turnkey.

However, you would have to do the block tapping yourself as shipping a block is cost prohibitive and a PITA.

For this I would include the AN fitting, the correct tap, and a how-to unless you were within driving distance in which case I could do the whole job.

My bad, I thought you were talking entire motor when you said pre-built setups. I just don't have the time for me to scrounge all the crap together, so this would be ideal. Keep us posted!
Thanks.

Yes, I put it in the turbo lounge originally but decided to make the same thread here.

Final price would depend on who is supplying the head.

I certainly could do a whole motor but then we are talking $$.

I am not even going to consider setting a price until I get more info.

What if someone were to get the manifolds and head, and work it on an exchange basis? I don't have the skills for the fabrication, nor would I know where to find someone to trust in my area. I guess I could always come up with manifolds and heads, there's like well over 30 yards in my area! Like I said, I'm super interested in the idea, just don't have the fab skilz to do it myself.

Sorry for posting as a separate topic. Kind of stoopid today!

I think that would be the best way to go. I know I could come up with the heads/manifolds, but after that, it would be nice to just send them off to be modified and get it back, ready to install.

Would this DOHC package work with the SRT turbifold?

Actually, that is *exactly* what I was planning.

It would be loads easier for ME if you sent me the head/manifolds
I could supply them myself but thats a PITA.

I twouldnt be an "exchange" though, as I would prefer to send you back what you sent me.

Why? You send me a cr*ppy head, you get back a cr*ppy head.

As for the manifolds, there are several different options there, so you couldnt just send me "any old manifold".

Will the turbofold work? Yes and no. That depends on what year head you send me.

The best option is the mexican turbo manifold for most.

The caravan manifold can be made to work well also with some welding.

Read Above, that is "more or less" the plan.
