so when everyone states they are doing a 2.4 head swap, that doesn't mean anything than they are using a neon or stratus dohc? just making sure i buy the correct head.

the only difference is the cams, 2.0 have more lift and duration, which could cause valve interference with stock 2.2 or 2.5 pistons

I just picked up an 95 2.0 head, so I should be able to use that head with the MLS gasket and stock 2.5 bottom end and be ok right, man I'm so excited to get started on this motor!:big grin:

I dont know why you peeps wanna use stock pistons without valve reliefs anyhow.

After all that work for a 16v you should want forged pistons

Now if you are getting forged pistons you might as well get 16v forged pistons because the price is the same.

Yes, they are expensive but people need to learn to build things right *the first time*.

On that note, as soon I get my L-body dissassembled and gone and my Masi stuff sold Ill be starting my prototype 16V Hybrid 2.2.

I am going to do something a little different though.

The only thing is that some of us already have forged pistons in our motors, and dont want to spend the money again to buy another set of pistons. So if the head will work with stock pistons then we can use the forged pistons we already have. But I agree with you that if you are going to go through all the trouble of doing the conversion build it right with all the good stuff to begin with.

Id sell them at a small loss and go with 16V pistons if it were me.

Why spend money on pistons if you don't have to? Seems like people are eager to part with $$$.

Running 30psi on stock pistons is no problem if you know how to do things right.
