I was wondering about the 16 valve head to the 2.2 for my Lebaron Turbo 1. While I see its possible to do, how does one retain their A/C compressor? What brackets are used to retain A/C? Being a resident of KS it gets hot here, so no A/C is out of the question. THanks in advance for the help, even if it means an 8 Valve future for me....LOL

No one has done it yet however......
A custom bracket should enable you to run an AC compressor.
The stock compressor is kind of large so may be dificult to use. The T3 one is much more compact but is way too rare and expensive.
I am going to try my Masi 16V A/C bracket and compressor as they look like they may do the trick nicely.

The Sanden unit from the Magnum v6/v8 engines in the trucks are much smaller than the stock unit. I would suggest that for a compressor. No idea on lines except custom.

maybe or maybe not... the magnum ones are serpentine belt, not V
but if someone wants one to play with, ill be pulling one off my truck soon.
I didnt think they were "much" smaller than a TD one.. :dunno:

I lucked out....it was on the van when I got it. No special hoses needed. It is the current "replacement" compressor offered by Mopar. If you walk in and ask for a compressor for a '91 (or '89 ) Spirit....or any 2.2/2.5L that's what they'll hand you.
A friend of mine did buy one from Mopar and I believe it was close to $300. That sounds steep, but I've had that one on my Spirit for 2.5 years now. No (compressor) leaks. No clutch failures. No compressor seizures. I added a can of 134 last summer and its about time to do it again.
I probably spent $500 one summer trying to keep the A/C working in my '88 Shelby Z.

The Masi unit is actually a GM compressor. Its small, cheap, and easy to get.

Do you have a part number for this specific compressor please??
