Crane Cams for the Hybrid Project

I'm starting to gather parts for doing the 16 valve conversion. I have a head on its way but it doesn't come with cams. I was wondering if I could use the split duration cams that crane sells for turbo neons. My main concern is piston to valve clearance. Any ideas?

Regardless of what cams you use it will be an interference engine if the belt breaks. It shouldn't make much difference where valve clearance is concerned for lift for being in time as I believe they don't radically change the values from one to the next. It will also make a difference depending on what short block you are using (i.e. pre-common block, a 2.2L or a 2.5L common block, etc.) as that will determine the piston height. I don't believe any of the hybrid engine people have tried the turbo cams yet so I say go for it and find out how they work on one! Good luck and keep us posted!
