Has a T3 transplant in an omni ever been attempted?

I have very disturbing thoughts... "thumbs up

It has been done (not by me). Someone has the pictures out there I'm sure.

The entire swap was recently covered in SDAC's newsletter.

The T3 is a small PITA in an L due to its size.

It has been done at least twice that I know of.

Anyone know of a websource?

I'm seriously contemplating this if I can get ahold of all the T3 parts necessary...

Hamsterman,
One of the locals has done this swap and it's his daily driver. You can see a picture or two at this link
http://www.thedodgegarage.com/ne_sdac_dyno_day.html
The owner is Jon Lucas. The swap is fairly straight forward but the P/S setup hit's the frame rail and was deleted in Jon's car. The radiator is a scricco unit mounted under the core support because of clearance issues with the intake manifold. It uses the stock R/T intercooler mounter separately. Try dropping Jon an email at jonlucas@attbi.com and he can fill you in with some more info that I don't have.

Yes, now I know it's been done!

MAN IS THAT TIGHT!!! LOL!!! "thumbs up

I plan to delete the A/C, P/S, and modify the firewall/radiator support/hood to get the fit right. Coolant & washer fluid resivoirs may also be moved.

As much as I don't want to remove weight from under the hood, I may relocate the battery, and have longer intercooler plumbing for remote mounted units.

I'll give that guy a buzz!

Thanks Cliff!

Hamster,
No firewall mods needed, the turbo clears the Omni wall with no problem. Come on down to Enfield some time.
