alcohol =/= methanol

i run pure VP M1 methanol vs some people mix it

i run pure cuz its just better in general to prevent preignition / detonation and keeps the egt's in check better

cuz when compressed and sprayed in its pure form, methanol can get to around -150 degrees F. lowering IAT's - intake air temps alot.

so not only do you have the meth molecules cooling the cylinders when they contact the valves / head/ cylinder walls / piston heads, you are sending a lot colder air into the motor which helps with overall cooling.

and the colder the air is, the more dense the oxygen gets which = more vroom vroom :P

Do you guys have a line on where to buy a new He351cw for a fair price,are there other mods that should be done to the turbo itself to. Like ported compressor side, or coatings needed? Thanks

you wont find a new one for under 1k.

your best bet is to get a low mileage one out of a wrecked 2004.5-2007 cummins ram for 3-500$, thats what i did.

Guess I'm wondering if there's anything else people do to the he351 to optimize any other aspect. Do you guys all generally run a used holset without having to re-build it etc?

Not sure if this is a real Holset but BAE has them for around $600.

i didnt rebuild mine at all and got for 400$ shipping included

put about 4000 miles on it it so far and its perfectly fine.

they are capable of up to 45-50 psi of boost but anything over 32psi is out of their map. so if you are gonna be running less then 30psi, the lifespan will be pretty much indefinite as long as you keep on the oil and filter changes

unfortunatly im selling my R/T and i still have my mint 87 tona z .. that would be awsome to put this on.. IF it would fit.

I bought the rebuild kit for my hy35 from them it appears to be of good quality. The thrust and bearings are brass. Also includes two different size buttons as a few of the hy35's have an odd size one in them. Give them a call they were really nice and very helpful when I ordered.

Well, no turbo's lifespan is indefinite, regardless of care. 4K is not a lot of miles for a turbo unless it's from China.

That said the He351 is a great turbo! You should definitely open up the WG hole in the turbine so that you can control boost better and get less than 18-20psi. The stock hole is way to small for our application. I believe Jackson has a Jig set-up just for this purpose. If I did another He351 I would definitely cut the 90 elbow off the compressor and reclock it like Shadow did on his CLients TIII L-body.
