1991 dodge spirit R/T problems while running!

drove it down to one of my friends who runs a private shop a few miles from my house and it only throws codes 12 and 55. :|

Oil pressure runs near the middle of the guage now and seems to run and drive fine.. only got up to 45 MPH in 4th and had no issues no noises other than the car wanting to pull becuase it's trying to idle at 2500RPM. We're going to try and find vacuum problems next weekend.

id lose the factory vac lines and do a vac block. ditch the non needed lines and run the important ones IMO

I'm going to hunt down these vacuum lines next weekend.. this is exactly what mine is doing. i wish he said what one fell off :(

Wasn't able to do this last weekend and I spent all of the amazing weather working on another project so I hope to have this done next week, I really hope it's these vacuum lines!

Okay...............

Replaced ALL vacuum lines..
checked the intake and everything else down there for cracks and such..
replaced the M.A.P sens, o2 sens and TPS.
Checked and tested AIS.
checked to make sure the engine was in time and not 180 out.
still idles high and surges..

What do you mean WTF!!!?????
There are no WTF's until the problem has been diagnosed, not hit with the parts dart.
If the problem still exists obviously it has not been found and corrected.

You replaced a lot of parts but have yet to connect a scanner to see sensor parameters.
1)What is the controller seeing?
2)What are actual AIS steps at high idle..0 or stepped out???
3)What is TPS reading at closed throttle?
4)What is base idle reading?
5)How does the car idle with the AIS stepped in and removed from the equation?
6)You replaced all vacuum lines...
A)have you eliminated vacuum components as an issue, cruise servo, brake booster, HVAC issues, etc.???
B)Did you splice the existing harness...sliding rubber line over smaller nylon line, never seals correctly.

This is it. I've seen it a few times, the symptoms are always identical. Hopefully the video helps a few people out. It can be a frustrating hunt to find the cause.

First time it happened to me(2004) I pulled the intake before I found the culprit.

i completely got rid of that system and put in a custom one. i had this same issue and it was vacuum. depending on how you wanna do your setup look into a supra pcv(the metal one). main reason i got rid of that system is to make it easier to remove the intake manifold.

My Iroc R/T already has a business model, I just have to get it done. I've always ditched the stock vacuum lines in favor of a cleaner, custom setup but I haven't had this car long. I've held off on it because I still need to get the T3/T4 Turbonetics installed, as well as balance shaft removal and a few other little odds and ends. Currently the car is getting painted.
