Amount of time for a new computer to set?

I bought a 91 Spirit R/T for my son a few weeks ago. It had been sitting for a couple of years. It ran so-so when we got it fired up but the computer went bad. We got a new one from Chrysler and for the moment the car is only running around 4500 RPM's. The boost jumps to about 14 then immediately drops odd to around 6. Will tis get better once we get some miles on the car? It has only been driven about 10 miles so far. my son isn't sure, but he thinks it may now have a Garret T3 on it. The computer we took of had an epoxied area on the inside board like it may have been modified. The motor was completely gone through with new head etc. but it had a rattle in the top end that the previous owner did not like so he just quit driving it and parked it behind his dad's service shop.

The computer takes no time to "set in" it is more likely vaccum, blow off valve, or wastegate/turbo.

It takes a number of miles for the computer to "fine tune" itself, but what your describing isnt that. Its like the previous post, a BOV, wastegate solenoid yadda yadda.

Incase you're wondering, the stock turbo is a Garret T3.

I recently replaced my original computer. The inside of it also had an epoxied area. I think that's just how they were assembled.

Hope this was helpful.
