I finally went to fix the oil pressure problem in the R/T last night. I have dropped the pan before to clean it, and didn't notice this at first... BUT, yesterday upon dropping it again, I was going to do the balance shaft pull & oil pump - but the balance shafts were already gone! I don't know how I didn't notice it in the first place. I guess I'm just so used to not seeing balance shafts on a 2.2 anyway. Funny thing is that the person that yanked them DIDN'T PLUG THE OIL FEED HOLE!! Geez... That's where all my oil pressure is going. A quick trip to the hardware store, and 74 cents later - I gained 30psi of oil pressure! Went from 35 cold to 65, and hot pressure went from zero to 35-40psi. WOO HOO!!

Front brakes go on it tonight, and it's off for a test drive for the evening to enjoy the fruits of my labor. Fresh suspension, tires and brakes should be very enjoyable.

Just thought I'd share.

Good to hear!

People amaze me every day.
I just wonder how some get out of the bed in the morning, venture out into the world, and yet manage to get home again all by themselves!

On the R/T I bought last December, I've found lots of screwed up things so far. A rocker arm broke in half and somebody cleaned it up on a bench grinder and reinstalled with no lifter or anything! Engine made good power, good compression, but revved really slow.

The Wyoming license plate heat shield below the air box is pretty cool though. I also found the knock sensor connector wedged under the radiator, homemade O2 sensor wiring, and the air filter was completely clogged up with hood mat droppings.

dude said he had been trying to figure out why it wouldnt start for about a year,he had the wiring harness cut in a couple places trying to rig it to fire. when i got it home i changed the wiring harness (no fire still) looked at her for a good ten minutes and noticed the distributor was in backwards (flat side to motor)
