still trying to figure out if our cars came with them from the factory. they wont allow me to race my car at the drags without one. the fsm shows one, but doesnt say exactly what models they were put in. my car starts without the clutch engaged, so something needs to be done. if anyone knows anything about this topic please give me some info, thanks!

When I raced the minivan, I just explained that no clutch interlock was installed from the factory. The official had no problem with that - and this was at NED.

No, the Spirit R/T did not have a clutch safety switch.

Chrysler was kinda on and off with these, some Dusters, Darts and Demons had them in the early 70's, some of the early '90's cars had them but it wasn't until the late '90's that almost everything had them.

I see your from NH so you must be racing at NED. They never bothered me about a clutch safety switch on the wagon.

i didnt have a problem till the mopar power festival last august. they checked my car for one and told me next time i needed one to race. their website says you only need one if it was factory equipt with one. so i guess im good to go.

Goodness gracious.

The track down here would probably let an 8 second car with a leaking gas tank, cracked windshield, dry rotted tires and a driver wearing a tank top and shorts (and no helmet) run.

From best I can tell, the '91 cars did not have the Clutch safety switch, Chrysler started adding them back on the '92 Model year. The '91's have the wiring for the interlock switch but there is a jumper wire in there from the factory.

Hope this helps.
