How are you controlling the boost?

That was tried years ago by A. Berge and he could not get the vane/boost control to work right, so the project was scrapped...

well right now i am getting to much boost , but at half throtle it will run about 18 to 20 lbs, but i have a open exaust. So it is time for a muffler so i can keep the boost down. If you read my other post were i have put in a by pass valve in the exaust to keep the boost smooth and run big in injctors. This set up sounds so good coming out the back of the car that people can't belive that this is a stock motor.

Go to Gardy D.'s website and scroll on the left to A. berge.

It's the white Daytona 16 valve setup but the pics were after he swapped out the VNT for the T3/T4...

Saw that car in person. Engine bay was a beauty...

This is my vnt-62 that I got back from TEC.It is a T-3 compressor with a T-28 62 trim wheel mated to the vnt exhaust compressor.
Here is a pic of the VNT-62 beside the stock VNT-25

Would there be any benefit if you mated a stock .48 T3 intake housing and intake
turbine to a Vnt center section and exhaust housing?
Just curious, since I have both and I was looking at both. I see how you
could fabricate an adapter. If I can find another exhaust turbine for my Vnt, I could
experiment with this idea since I work in a machine shop. I just don't know if the T-3 turbine will actually bolt to the Vnt-25 shaft.

I don't see why it wouldn't work, that is pretty much what they have done with mine. Not sure what kind of adapter you need to make or if there is enough space for the turbine wheel.I think with mine the invoice said they machined the housing a bit to fit the comp wheel.Your going to definately get better flow with the t-3 housing.

What holds your new inlet housing to the center section? The Vnt housing is held in
place with a giant circlup, and the T-3 housing is bolted on similar to the exhaust side.
How did they attach your new housing? What I was thinking is if you made a plate
that bolts to the back of the T-3 housing the same way the stock backing plate bolts
to the t-3 housing then machine the other end of the plate to match the stock Vnt
housing and still use the circlip to attach the adapter that is bolted to the t-3 housing.
Looks like the t-3 housing sits way too low, the plate would space it up. Depending
on the thickness of the plate it would accomadate the difference. I just have to
find my junk vnt shaft so I can see if the t-3 turbine will fit on the vnt shaft.

Thats pretty much what they did.The adapter that sits inside the T-3 housing is held in there with the backing plates and mounts to the vnt center section using the stock circlup.it is made exactly the way you described. The depth of the adapter would probably depend on how your comp wheel bolts on to the stock shaft.

Wow!!!! That is awesome that they did it the same way I was thinking. Do you have
a pic of the rear of the intake side/ adapter? That would be awesome. It will probably
be a while before I can experiment with that idea. I have my car apart right now,
my old tubo locked up. The heat shield actually came apart under the exhaust turbine.
I am putting a stock replacement Vnt, and a new rack & pinion. I managed to get
the turbo off without pulling the head. I just got a notice that my plates expire at
the end of November and I have to take the car for emissions. Guess that gives
me a little push to get it back on the road. When will you have the new turbo on
your car? I would like to know how it feels with the new Turbo.

It's going on this winter as soon as the snow flies. But I would like to take it to the dyno and see what hp I'm running with the setup i have now wich is FWDP stage 3(16psi),+20's,SRT-4 IC,2.5 mandrel IC pipes,2.5 exhaust,k&n cone filter. The other parts that are going on with the VNT-62 are FWDP ported intake + exhaust manifolds,52 TB,adj FPR,255 walboro pump,ADJ cam gear so I should make considerable gains. You can get a closer look at my set up on cardomain
http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2597061
I don't have any pics of the adapter itself but i could take some close up shots of the side if you want.Dont really want to pull it apart.

I looked at your car pics, it looks awesome!!!!!! I do not want you to pull it apart,
just shoot some side pics like you said. It would be interesting to see your hp and
torque difference. Keep me posted. Do you have any vnt parts or a used vnt with
a good exhaust turbine and heat shield that you want to sell? Too bad you are using
a Vnt exhaust manifold, I have 5 T-3 manifolds laying around that I need to get rid of.
I just spent about 4hrs porting one and am going to sell it on here or e-bay. I even ground the flange surface, glass peened it and I just need to get some 1500 deg. Paint
to give it a nice new cast look. It turned out awesome, the ports look huge compared to
stock. I spent a lot of time on the turbo side blending back to the main runner. I am
not sure if I am going to do any more, it is a lot of work and even using a hand finish
booth, I was wearing the shavings for a day and got a few in my eye while wearing
safety glasses.
