I've just gotten a '90 daytona c/s and don't know squat about these. It is white with dark red interior, 5 speed, buldge hood, pumper wheels, vnt on the hood. It has the lower ground effects. That identifies it as a '90 competition model right? Or does the ground effects make it a perf model, not competition? I got this from a drag buddy who is dying for me to put my big inch small block into something smaller than my 69 2door fury, so we were gonna convert it. The interior could be cleaned and made serviceable again as the seats aren't ripped. Is this a travesty to do this to a vnt model or is it just a rare model that isn't very special after all. the white pumper wheels have the cs logo on them. is there a market for the whole powertrain taken out as a unit? rear suspension/disks worth anything or give it the torch when I convert it? anyone know where i can find a front drive kmember for one? I don't think mother makes them anymore. the car needs driver door hinges and new fenders and paint but there is no rust to speak of.

Not many VNT model were made, but no Turbo dodge are worth anything. Post the vin number, that'll tell you a lot about that car.
If the compression is good, the engine worth $200-$500 depend on condition. If the transmission is good, it worth about $200-$400. Rear discs worth about $60-$10.

Look at the tag on the radiator support. If it has an AGS code on it then it is 1 of 36 competition package cars built in 1990. Would be a shame to cut that up when there are plenty of base Daytonas that could be done to.

find another body to cut up.
They may not be worth anything now but they will be.
If you cut yours up tho then mine will be that much more rare.
The production numbers are so low on those, I wouldnt do it.
Got any pics?

A 90 AGS car came with crabs, no ground effects and a rear spoiler. Bulge hood with decal. No power options. Big vented rear rotor setup. The 8th digit in the VIN will be a C. The rad support tag will have AGS.

Wow, that was pretty ignorant to ask if the car is rare or worth anything, and then cut it up before the question you asked in the first place was answered...

well hell, son. i've found out that they arent that fast, they aren't that special, the turbos leak oil, the vnt owners bash each others performance, and call bs on each others races. I would have pulled the pwrtrain to rebuild it anyway, the only thing ive cut is a ground wire and exhaust pipe -things i would replace if it were restored. Now that its out i see it's a mitsu turbo not a garrett. I hear alot of people say "you should restore it"-sure give me the money or buy it from me and do it yourself mister "i would restore that". i like mopars and usually the community that embraces them, but to call me ignorant based on the assumption that i (should) percieve you as the only authority to consult is pretty amazing. You'll probably want to flame me for lack of capitalization and punctuation next. thnx

nah....alright, ignorant was a poor choice of words, and if the car has a Mitsu. turbo, it's a T1 and not really worth anything anyway. It's actually a pretty good canidate for a RWD conversion, etc.

oh, by the way, it's not a VNT. You have a 2.5 T1.

Exactly. There were only 550-ish VNT Daytonas ever built, and out of those only a handful (36 according to poster above...I thought even less) were made. They have alot of good stock performance parts right from the factory.

Forged crank and rods, getrag gearset 568 trany, 11" big brakes and swaybars, etc. Even those 16" CS wheels are sought after.

Find a base model or normal trbo model to molest rather than ruin such a rare car.

yup the snail's a mitsu so i don't have any qualms. It'll be pretty nice when done. is the 5 speed the same between the two models (just curious-its already sold) And what's up with the vnt on the hood- stick on performance upgrade, or someone replace with a lesser engine. I never found the code plate under the hood.

trans should be the same. As far as the VNT sticker, probably one of the two scenarios you mentioned.
