Just took my 90 Shadow C/S for it's first run. I don't know about anybody else's first impressions, but I'm diggin it! It might have been partly due to the thrill of driving when I shouldn't (car isn't plated yet), and it might be due to being able to blow the front tires away at the top of first and shifting into second. I would say third, but I didn't want to get too crazy. I've gotta get a look at the front brake hardware, as the fronts are sticking. This is probably due to the car sitting for a loooooooong time. It's got ridiculously low original miles, theoretically it could have less than ten oil changes under its belt, and of all the freaking places, I bought the car from a salvage yard! They had no idea what it was, and neither did I until I read some things my dad found out about the C/S versions online...
Things to fix so far are the sticky brakes, the slight hang down bubble in the headliner, the broken bumper cover mounts and a couple dings from clutzes in the boneyard.
So for all the mild trash talking about these things, I've gotta say that this car has impressed me. I had an AWD 91 Talon TSI, and for the first drive, I'd pick this over the Talon. I don't know about top end, but quickness out of the hole, I'd take the Shadow.
Anyhow, I'm geeked to have one of these things, and hope that by the time things start getting buggy on it, some of those on this board are still able to help impart their knowledge.

Oh yeah, if you've got a Shadow C/S, and you get a build sheet from the dealer, and you've spent forever bouncing around online trying to figure out what option code the competition package was, don't make the mistake of thinking that it is "AGS." It is for the Daytonas, but the Shadow is ANA, and will show on your build sheet as "Navigation Convenience Group."
If I can figure out why I've got throttle cables and a vacuum cable control for cruise in the engine bay, but no controls on the steering wheel and no mention on the build sheet, I'll be happy.
Got the brake problem figured out though... The front pass. caliper's seized up from sitting. I love easy fixes. Next thing to do is get the brakes done, get plates and insurance, and then see what happens when I put the car up against my buddy's n/a Talon that he converted to turbo... Should be fun

Awesome find, pics. What color is it, are you talking about a 90 Competition series Shadow 1 of 30. I have a white one. Do not mistake this for a C/S, they did not make a Shadow C/S, it is a Shadow with Competition Package. I have the window sticker for mine and here is some awesome info. Is lists Competition package option $2,993.00
List of what was included with this package.
Engine-2.2 Liter MPI Turbo IV
Four speaker system
rear spoiler
sport suspension
15" cast aluminum wheels
all season performance tires
power 4 wheel disc brakes
liftgate release-remote
message center warning lights
mirror - dual outside remote
seats- performance front buckets
& 60/40 split folding rear
turbo accessories: Boost guage,
Performance exhaust,
Power bulge hood & engine dress up.

Also shows performance levels.
Peak horsepower 174h.p. at 5200rpm
Peak torque 210ft-lb at 3200rpm
