I bought car #28 and it was missing the stock air box. Is it the same as a turbo 2 air box? Or what is the differents. It has a open air filter and no blow off valve. I would think it would need a blow off valve am I correct. I am new to the VNT. So any help would be great.
Thanks

Same as all intercooled 89 cars with out cruise. Ones with cruise actually use the little nipple in the front. They should all work for you.

Speaking of the little nipple on the turbo:

That nipple is for the cruise control only? Reason I'm asking is that I installed a turbo with that nipple on my GLH and I plan to run cruise eventually. I thought or heard that it was for a stock internal blow off valve in a TII air box. I'm probably way way off on this. Go easy, I don't have an air-box and I'm new to TD's.

Don't know if your talking about the nipple on the compressor housing or airbox but the one on the airbox is for cruise control. The only turbo 2 airbox to have a bov was the Maserati TC and it has a small home in the front with a rubber gormet and a hole in the bottom for the bov with a different 3 piece lower intercooler hose. They also have the same grey stripe bov as the R/T cars.

Oh sorry, the one on the compressor housing. I just realized this is the VNT section, which I do not have. I pulled a standard Garret from an 88 Shelby Z. The car had Cruise control and a nipple on the compressor housing. I have installed this turbo in my 85 GLH omni with a 87 tII. I guess I'm going to block it off since I do not have the original air box anymore. If I don't have the air box, how would I be able to run the cruise control? Just any other source of vaccum like other cruise control systems??? Thanks for the help.

I beleave you can just hook the line up to any presserized source but I think the one that goes to the airbox needs to be on the fresh air inlet side of the house. I'm sure there are some poeple on here who messed with cruise before. None of my cars ever had it, so pipe up guys.
