Don't worry if he changes the exhaust and air induction system so the 4 cyl can breath easier chances are it won't hook,I have a pic of my car launching at the starting line and the rear end squat is tremendous so it is very easy to unload the front end and get squirrelly, go into severe tire shake or completly boil the tires. When that happens 5500 comes in a hurry in first and you just bang second and it usually straightens out and hooks, but engine mounts can't take it,I broke the R/S mount 3 times.
I also had to replace the front tires at 12,000 miles.
Jan, if they had the same power output potential, that may sound wrong.. If they could reach power outputs as easy as a non VNT then I would agree 100%, right its a percent rating of, hmm i dunno
Honestly I would not "Eff" with it much if it is “unmolested”. They only built 132 of these cars, which is quite low. I did some research on these cars and if we compare it to what is considered a “Rare car” say a 70 Cuda’ Convert (not Barracudas) they built 635. If you base it on percentage of production, the GTC VNT is .22% of total production of Lebarons in 1990, Cuda’s Converts were 1.14% of total production in 1970. My 2 cents!!!
I've seen a CSXVNT max out the stock boost gauge, so over 15psi is possible. Just depends on his driving vs yours. But from what i've read they dog out in the high RPM range. They seem more to be from a stop kind of car(as in they are sweet from a dead stop, from xxMPH maybe not so much)
deffinitly suck when your going to pass someone and you get half way pass them and the car boggs down. On the other hand i love the kick my csx-t had off the line! I beat a grand prix gt super charged.
