Is there anything special about this cam and/or are there any decent upgrades on the market which really produce but close to stock? What are you guys runnin? Thanks in advance!

I wouldn't run anything but a stock turbo cam or maybe a bigger TBI non turbo cam. Otherwise your just asking to have overboost nightmares with a VNT. They can't handle the exhaust air. Your cam is not much different at all from a regular 89 turbo cam and it is the same as a 90 2.5 turbo mini van cam

The reason I ask is that I've got to replace mine.. not due to wear but RUST! Supposedly it was oiled and when I went to grab it the other day low and behold.. it's d.e.a.d. so I need a new one. I figured an upgrade would be cool. I plan to use a larger VNT. Does that make any difference?

its the exhaust side that can't handle it. I would buy an 88 TBI cam and run PT lifters and call it good. The TBI is a cheap small power upgrade and is very popular.
