How hard is it to find/replace the turbo on an 89 csx vnt?

will be looking at an 89 vnt csx this next week. from the description it is in great condition, but the turbo is blown. is it easy to find replacement vnt turbos? is it possible/better to bolt on a more common turbo? any help is appreciated. thanks also how much should i pay for an 89 with a blown turbo, assuming the rest of the car is very clean and around 90,000 miles. thanks

You can bolt in turbos from other dodges, such as TI and TII turbos.

But then you have to change other things... Not worth it if you aren't wanting to make over 250HP, the VNT can get you to that number. Contact FWD-P, Cindy is a awesome vendor and will answerany question you've got.

what would be the cheapest/easiest route to getting the car on the road?

having the original rebuilt IMO...

i'll have to tow it to a shop and get the turbo installed right away, so no time for a rebuild. unless there's a place to get vnt turbo's cheap (i saw them listed at $800 on fwdperformance, which is just too much for a stock turbo rare or not) then it looks like i may be ditching the vnt turbo. i plan on 250+ hp anyway.

Assuming i get the car first things done to it mod wise is 3" dp/exhaust, upgraded intercooler, and one of the ecu upgrades

FWDP sells a ECU for the vnt to super 60 swap if your looking to go that route.
