Hey, first of all, congrats on having a vnt! As you know, they are pretty rare.

That's cool, but it also hurts in times like these (when you need help with something on it).

Someone else will probably jump in and make some suggestions, but as for my 90 daytona vnt, I just had some porting done including the swing valve which was reinforced first by welding to make it possible to open it up as much as it was.

I'm also going to stick with a 2.5" exhaust, if for no other reason than boost creep concerns.

I'll turn up the boost a little and add a larger intercooler on the front here pretty soon, and that's about it for me.

I only want a fun daily driver though, so I'm just looking to get it to 225-250 horse and I'm not trying to drag it.

Anyway, for what that's worth...

balance shafts removed, I forgot that in my list, good call.

I don't know for sure if a roller cam would make much of a difference or not, but someone else may have a strong opinion.

When my engine was rebuilt, a guy whose opinion I trust without question said that it can make a small difference, and he put an '88 tbi cam in mine. This was partially because I had one laying around though, it may not have been worth it otherwise.

I don't know how married you are to the vnt turbo, but a lot of people that want more hp swap in a t2 and that will flow better than a vnt. I personally like the vnt, that's what makes this car special, but to each there own. The vnt isn't really a horsepower monster from what I can tell.

I've always felt the VNT's were much more of a great street car rather than weekend warrior. I'd realistically expect 250-270 for sure. I don't think that you'll get there even with porting w/o a modified turbo and cal to match.

i knew i would have to replace it at some point but 250-270 still is'nt bad an do u know if i have to get a custome cal or can i use the stage 4 the fwd performance sells?

There is a larger vnt type of turbo out there, I just can't remember what it's called, etc. off of the top of my head.

I bought a brand new stock vnt turbo when I got my car so I never really looked into the upgrade myself, but I've read bits and pieces about it on the forum.

As for the computer, I know that fwd does a vnt cal because I just saw one for sale on ebay the other day. Also a buddy of mine that has an '89 csx said that he had talked with Cindy about them a year or two ago.

Apparently you send in your computer and they make a new cal for it based on what mods you have done to your engine, and after paying the initial fee (around $180?), they will re-cal it for you for free in the future if your needs change.
