I replaced the leaky valve cover gasket on my 89 CSX and it started leaking again within days. A more knowledgable Shelby fan pointed out that the previous owner had installed a non-factory PVC vavle. He said the factory ones are designed to keep the crankcase pressure at the proper levels when the boost comes on. I'm replacing the valve but wonder, is this just a problem with VNT or all turbo Dodges?

Your valve cover uses the rubber O ring type gasket and it is one of the best for sealing. I would use only Mopar brand gaskets and PVC and install a new PVC hose (3 nipple type with the plastic clamp). Pop in a new cam end seal while your at it too. You should have no leaks after this. Be very careful when installing the 1 piece valve cover gasket that you don't get it turned or dislodged before it is tightened.

As it turned out, the valve cover gasket had not been properly installed and the pvc connector was cracked. It's been fixed and I've put in the factory pcv now. - Jim
