I'm currently doing some "upgrades" on my GLH. Plugs, FWDP cal, injectors, ported head, wires, exhaust, coil, intercooler and eventually a "S60" VNT.

Yesterday I decided to cut off from the cat back just to see how much of a difference it would make and to see if that was the reason why it seemed as if I had a little lag. Let me just say that I still have stretch marks from smiling so much! LOL Before it would boost to about 10-12 psi, but last night, it pegged the guage. The car was freakin' fast! But it was also about as loud as the space shuttle, so I need to get a good free flowing muffler and a 2.5" exhaust.

I also found that the stock upper intercooler hose had small rips in it, that explains why I couldn't hold boost.

Some of you guys that have done upgrades to your VNT; I'd like to hear what you have. I need to have something to guage my progress with. Thanks.

-Will

What do you mean by what we have? Are we talking upgrades here or timeslips?

Upgrades. I'll eventually "out grow" the VNT, but just want to make use of it while it's there.

I know I won't! Not with that 16V project you got going on!!! But I can sure as hell try. Now I can bring my Rampage up here and do some serious work on that and maybe I can hang! LOL

Right now mine is probably the least modded of those who have completed any mods to a VNT. LOL. It has a homemade intake tube. The 1G blow off valve. No muffler, only a resonated tip. Plus a boost controller set at 14psi. It is fun enough, surely gets a lot of stares from the little ricer boys down in Ft. Wayne at least. Oh, it is also missing the balance shafts, that made one heck of a difference in how fast you feel the lightening quick boost of a VNT.

Crazyace (or anyone else reading),

You think you could send me a quick diagram or instruction of sorts as to where exactly I plug all those lines to that came off the stock airbox? I kinda of a have a clue (I think LOL) just want to be sure. I know the VNT has one more line on the turbo than the TII.

-There's the PVC line that I'm gonna make a catch can with filter for.
-There's a vac line that was attached to the stock BOV nipple that I'm putting on the nipple on the DSM BOV.
-The line that's connected to the second (lower) nipple on the VNT. Where does that go? Does it connect to the fresh air pipe?
-And there's a slightly bigger hose that connects to the turbo. Where do I hook that up to?

Thanks.

-Will (a fellow Hoosier!)

P.S. And everyone, check out my build up page! LOL

I hope I can find all the vacuum lines on mine also. Too many lines to hook up.

Will, if you have or know someone who has a digicam, this can done a lot more simple. You need to get a pic of the hoses you are talking about use paintshop to color dot each of the areas you are asking about. That will give us a much easier time of describing what needs to be done.
