My car is running good now but I still have a code 34. What is usually wrong when it`s code 34?I have the 3 solenoids trhat are together[as soon as I find them I`m gonna change them with the old]. I also heard it may be the solenoid to the left of the map sensor. ANyone had experience with this??? Thanks Travis

The one by the MAP sensor is the Baro-read solenoid. It has nothing to do with the VNT control.

So it wouldn`t have anything to do with me only getting 4-5 lbs? I`ve been looking everywhere for 2 days now for my solenoids,as soon as I find them I may find out anyway. Travis

Haynes manual says a code 34 is "Open or shorted condition detected in the speed control vacuum solenoid or vent solenoid circuits". The 90' FSM says the same thing, although it may be different on the CSX. I wouldn't think the code has anything to do with the low boost. Mike

I just changed all the vnt solenoids and the baro/read. I changed everything oin the corner there except the map sensor. Now the code 34 went away but now it barely runs. It`s now `puttering` and won`t see any boost at all. It has me stumped.

I changed it anyway just because I had another one. I quess I`m gonna change everything back again and see if I get 4-5 lbs like before. The only thing is I don`t know what to change next. I also changed 1 vacuum line out that had small cracks in it.

I changed the 2 solenoids again under the map back to the old and it still wouldn`t run right. I then changed the vnt solenoids back to the original ones and now I`m back to 4-5 lbs of boost when I don`t put the foot down at once.I just don`t know what to change out now.It was reading a code 34 but it now has no codes. What else can I change?

Are you sure the vacuum lines are hooked up correctly to the solenoids? I would think that would cause a problem. Are you going to be around the house this weekend? Mike

Just checking with everyone else also.I was thinking of getting a set of FSM`s for the csx. Should I order a set for 1990 since dodge didn`t make vnt`s in 89? I`ve also heard of the shelby supplement. Would this be all I need since I have the 89 fsm`s already. Travis

Ok, checked the Chrysler FSM for the code 34. The servo itself is used for cruise control and is both vacuum and electrical operated, and it's located under the battery. Check the connections at that location to see if you have any broken wires or any crack, etc.

I get the same fault for my car since my cc does not work (servo is cracked) but it should not affect the performance of the vehicle, just the operations of the cc. I disconnected the vac lines to mine since it's not used...

What is your vac @ idle??
