I want some real proof. Like Bruce Almighty level proof. Make my girlfriend's boobs bigger and I'll start drinking the "Dan is God" Kool Aid again. Until then I renounce my saint status.

There was another guy with a lebaron VNT, with an opened exhaust, and an old ND 18psi cal, I think he was running 102mph in the 1/4. That's gotta be around 240whp as well.

I think 240whp with a VNT is kind of like 300whp in an R/T with the stock turbo - at least one guy has done it, a few guys have approached it, but it's really pushing that turbo to its limit!!
Yes, Soupcan. He's still on this forum somewheres. Saw a post from him a month ago, or so. His Daytona was lightened hardcore... but yes, he probably made that power #. He was running that poor VNT for all it was worth, though. I wasn't taking that into consideration.

As for the 102mph Lebaron... I know who you are talking about, but nobody has ever seen it run those #s he claimed. Could be true...maybe not. That takes about 265whp for a 3,200lb raceweight(his #s too). 300 crank hp at 18psi on a VNT... The S60 package could barely muster up 300 crank hp at 18psi. Maybe he ran the "all of it" boost setting and says it was 18 instead?

Problem with the VNT is vane control once you open up the exhaust. I went from a 2.5 exhaust to a 3 inch and the boost guage went from 16 psi to 22-23 psi with no other changes. Mind you, I have alot of mods to the car and a VNT28 turbo. I am runnin an old ND/Rob Maxon Cal (ND liked to ping alot) and it's not bad, but I run out of fuel at 21 psi. A TU cal will be in order when I can scrape the $$ together since my clutch/transaxle needs attention, and I have a spare wiring harness that needs to be pulled (it's hacked bad) and a converted from a 90 2.5 T-1 to a T-IV and have the battery placed in the trunk.

I have sitting next to me a large FMIC and 2.5 stainless intercooler piping and silicone elbows, etc. Once the weather is a bit nicer, I'll get to installing it when I change the headgasket. Will I be at 300 hp when I am done? Only the dyno will Know... will I care if I hit 300 hp? Maybe, but the car is fast enough and fun to drive

As it stands, tomorrow (1st day in almost 2 weeks in the 50's and not raining) I am going junkyard hunting and then installing (finally) Polybushings front mount and re-adjusting the polybusings rear mount.

I don't think a stock vnt has a chance to do 300 whp. I've never heard of anyone coming close to 300 whp with a T-II Garrett, which will certainly have more performance potential than a stock VNT. I'd be shocked to see a VNT put out 250 whp. Torque numbers way down low would be high, but no chance at the type of hp numbers you're looking for.

In about two months, I'll be able to see how far I can push my car. '86 GLH 2.2 VNT. 'Some' mods will include a Steve Menegon head, TEC S60 VNT, FWDP stage 5 cal, TBI header, 2.5" exhaust, +20 injectors, yada-yada. I'm gonna push this baby 'til it pops. LOL Will I make 300hp? Nope. But stock the car was really quick, so now I should really fly. This is my daily driver so this'll be it's limits.

i just dont think it can move enough air. Just like others said, it would be hard to do with a garrett TII.
