new to turbo cars found a VNT daytona

Hi all,
I am a newbie here, and to turbo cars.
I have recently found a 1990 Dodge Daytona VNT car.
through my research I have think I found it is one of 536 built?? is this right?
The car belongs to a fellow I recently met and it has been sitting in his shop for some time. It runs pretty good, has 140,000 miles on it, the paint is delaminating like all cars of these years, (white with maroon interior).
The body is in great shape and so is the car beside the paint coming off.
I have tried to decode the vin and found some info. on it, but am wondering if anything designates the VNT besides the decals? I havent looked atthe turbo yet. I was also wondering if the vin is going to say what # of car it was.
here is the vin# 1B3XG74C8LG428175
the car is unofficially for sale and I am kind of considering it for my collection if it is worth while. What are the average prices for such a animal?
any knowledge, help, ideas, or nay says are appreciated, becuse all i know is vintage mopar muscle.
thanks!

hmmm.. 536, 589....does any one know for sure? I have found two sources that say 536 built, but I really dont know. Either way its not many.
Do you care to mention what you paid for yours? just curious.
I have not recieved any info. as to values, other than not much.
Trying to decide if its worth getting, becuse I know it will need some work....and paint.

An old email friend of mine named Ed Helbling used to own a nice white '90 VNT Daytona and the guy he bought it from was the original owner. The original owner got official production documentation from Chrysler when he bought the car(upon his request). That documentation was on Ed's website many years ago, then put on another friend's site after he sold the car. Jan Daurio. Do a serch on VNT Daytonas and maybe you'll come across the person who now owns that paper. BTW... that papaer had all the breakdowns of all Daytonas in 1990. Right around the 550 mark from what I remember. 536 seems to sound familiar.
The VNT is more than just decals. The differences between a VNT and a T-II car are small except for the computer, exhaust manifold and the turbo... basically speaking. The differences between a normal T-I engine and the VNT is very different, though. The VNT uses a special variable vane geometry turbine assembly vs the standard fixed geometry turbine setups common to all other turbos out there. This variable (the "v" in vnt) nozzle (now the "n" ;-) helps reduce lag by almost half. Moveable vanes in the turbine housing restrict the exhaust gases, which in turn increase velocity and at the same time, spools the turbo up quickly. Then, then can move to the open position to reduce the backpressure once the set boost level has hit. VNT can make full boost at 2,100 rpms. A T-II Garrett is 3,500-ish from what I have seen. The VNT was more of a marketing tool rather than from a performance standpoint. The turbo is considered small for the 2.2, but at 12psi boost, it works just fine. The great thing about the VNT cars is that it got all the great HD hardware and was intercooled to 12psi. 174 hp (a bit over rated they say..167) but 210 ftlbs of torque. Forged crank and rods, 568 tranny with getrag gearset, cross drilled block and head, hd clutch, sbec computer, big 11" 4 wheel discs, large swaybar front and back, etc.
The car is just plain cool to have if looking for a turbo dodge.

I have a white VNT. I had found a breakdown on the web a few years back. 536 VNTs, 125 white, about 50 of the white ones had cloth interior, and only 10 of those had the factory sunroof. If that is accurate than my 'tona is one of 10. I have no way to prove that info and I cant find that info again, sorry.

I spoke with the guy about the exhaust dump.
He isa drag racer 9.0 sec. rail jobber. He ran the car a couple of times
uncorked. If he rembered correctly, it ran a 14.89 on the quarter, but
sounded like it was bouncing off a rev limiter in 3rd gear. before it was wound out. He thought that uncorking it might have been the concern but he didnt
know for sure. He got the car in trade for some trans work he did years ago.
I may see if he will take lass for it and just stick it in my garage.
dont know yet though
