due to the fact that i snapped just about ever plastic vacuum line taking off the valve cover, im going to do a custom vacuum block and lines, now what is going to be different on the vnts that mite make this more difficult, is it as easy as following the vnt vacuum diagram and pluging it all in, and what would be the best vacuum block to get, how many ports do i need, i was thinking part number 5085K51 at mcmaster.com, any ideas?, thanks

I have one on my VNT GLH. I just ran a long line from the intake manifold to the block. I placed the block down by the VNT solenoids, and from there distributed all the lines where they needed to go. Mine has six ports; 4 used and 2 plugged up.

Any chance to see a photo of the new block and the hose setup. I am rebuilding my engine compartment and have the same issues with 15 year old broken hoses. Thanks

I'll have to get them to you tomorrow. You can get a general idea by looking on my cardomain page. I have a pic of the engine bay and it's in the passenger corner behind the headlight.

I've already done all my lines and I have the block, just need to weld the ends. The lines go from your solenoids, boost gauge, brake booster, and if you want, BOV.

Are you able to get a part number? That's a good deal. Even the brass fittings for mine cost more than that and I got the welding and rail for free from work.

Not sure if it will work for your application, but when I was looking for parts at a hardware store, something that struck my eye was the brass fitting section for garden hoses. They have some parts that split off into 4 sections, some were even barbed for hose to clamp over. Might be worth a look.

I would like to find a block with a 1/2 or 5/8 for the main hose and have small 1/4 or 5/32 barbs.Keep dreaming!

Your best bet is to make one or have one made up. I was lucky enough to get some metal square tube from work (kinda heavy albeit but works) and get it all threaded. If you know someone with the tools, or you have them and can weld, definitely make your own.

To do it yourself, you'll need a tap and die for the thread sizes you want, brass barbs (threading plastic into metal is asking for trouble), teflon tape, roundfile, and something to cap the ends (welding is ideal).

Just line up your barbs, mark them, drill, tap the threads, file the burrs, cap the ends, rinse the inside with brake cleaner and drain through the larger hole for the main vacuum source line, dry, teflon tape the threads on the barbs, screw them in securely and have at it.

I went to home depot today and in the gardening section and they had 4 and 8 barb manifolds. There used for garden hose so you can run 1/4" line off the barbs. The barbs even have screw caps on the barbs to plug off.If it's good for water so it should be good enough for the vacuum I would think. This peice cost $12 for the 8 barb and 7 for the 4 barb. They even sell the 1/4" hose for the barbs wich seem very durable and it only costs 12$ for a hundred feet.WOW!!I could be onto something, will keep updated.
