I was curious on what mods were the best on a vnt car starting from stock. This could be anything, from mounts to air cleaners to tires/wheels. So what are YOUR top 5?

Exhaust
Boost Controller (to avoid overboost)
Cold Air Induction
Suspension
Computer

Those are mine for a STOCK vnt25. If upgrading to a better VNT then the S60VNT for sure.

Hey Jason,

You're shorting yourself a spot! LOL If you had a good cal, it would control the boost. The only way you're gonna avoid overboost is to lay off the throttle.

Computer/Cal - Electronics if you will. With a proper wastegate control you should be able to control overboost, but the Calibration is essential. Guess you could say I used the wrong words :P

A bit off topic, but how much HP can a 28 handle vs. a 25, and does it breathe any better even though it's the same housing?

Not too sure anyone has ever done back to back testing. But because of the larger wheel, it would put our more hp at the same boost levels than a stocker.

I was looking at a thread in the exhaust section about the VNT muffler, and after seeing the internals and how much went into controlling the backpressure, I'd have to agree with Will that a good Calibration is an essential upgrade for a higher perfomance VNT, especially with an exhaust upgrade.
