well seeing as my car doesnt even get full boost as it is i dnt wanna mess with it.. i only get about 7 psi.. and itll float around 5-8 someimes and never be consistant..im afraid to sneeze in the car so nothing breaks.. my radio all my interior lighting and underhood light all went otu at teh same time.. i cheked the fuses under the steering colum and they were all good.. i checked teh fuses for the amp and everything and it was good as well.. is there any other fuses i can check to see why my tach doesnt work or radi.. it just quit for no reason..

Well it sounds like you just may have found your problem. If there is a boost controller on there and it's not adjusted properly, then that may be the cause. Why don't you just disable it and run the car stock and see what it does?

i disabled it last night.. and still have issues.. the car is surging now.. if i go wot itll boost but then pull timing and hesistate then back to boosting.. so the car sort of bucks.. keep in mind i have 100 oct gas in the tank and it should not pull timing or anything.. car is throwing no codes either..

The bleeder valve was not even open! I put that in the car when I redid everything in the car 3 years ago. Steve probably forgot about it because he does not mess with that kind of stuff and just forgot to mention it. I put it in so I could up the boost in the future. I did try it a few times but was too touchy with that cars setup. Boost was spiking too much and not staying constant so I just left it closed. Unlike my CSX I was able to control it better.

I never told you that the car was stock, maybe Steve did! But you knew the car had a 2 1/2" exhaust, 20% injectors, AFPR, CSX recaro interior and probably a few other minor items I cant remember right now. It was meant that the engine was not heavily modified cam, pistons, turbo, head ETC. If you know what you are doing a bleed is not a big deal.

So you never raised the boost in your other cars!

in my other cars yes but not the vnt because ive read how finicky they were with raising boost. i raised boost in all my other t2 cars.

So I was being sneaky because I knew what I was doing! I tried it, it did not work well so I left it closed until I had time to make some adjustments to make it work correctly! This is not my first VNT, I have owned my CSX-VNT since new in "90".

where did i say you were being sneaky. i was just not told about it and since ive read vnts are finicky on boost i didnt want to try raising it. so i just disconnected it completely and took out the tee and put the regular line going to the top nipple

Like I said before, I told Steve about the bleed when he bought the car! But he probably never used it and forgot about it since it was hidden. That is why he forgot to tell you! You cant expect eveyone to remember every little thing that was done to the car.

I didnt say you guys were sneaky i said you guys didnt mention it so i figured it was stock besides the things mentioned. I actually thought it was probably a previous owners before you both as to why i said i dont know how it got there. You just think i said sneaky somewhere.

Has anyone used a Turbosmart MBC on a vnt because mine doesn't seem to do anything.Do I need a restrictor on the other line as well.?On the bottom it has an arrow pointing out one side saying this end towards the actuator.I've tried different ways but nothing seems to work.Any ideas???

I hooked it up again today and with it all most closed it just seemed it took longer for the turbo to spool up.Usually 12 psi at 2300 rpm and after it was more around 3500 rpm.I think i'm just going to sell it now,but I need to try something else to stop overboosting in 3,4 and 5.And I'm only at about half throttle.I know it just going to get worse with this cold weather coming so does anyone have any suggestions??I'm going to have to wait another couple months before I order a custom cal.
