If i were to go with a vnt 28 and whatever calibration is best, what is the most power i could get out of a stock motor with a vnt28 with the highest safe boost level?

If I was a betting man, I'd 'guestimate' about 220-230hp range. You'd probably have to upgrade the intercooler, injectors to +20%, and exhaust as a minimum.

...........and this is exactly why people stray from the VNT. My estimate is by no means reality, you could make more. But I made sure to set 'goals' and then go for them. I've known for many years the limitations of the VNT but chose to accept them. Plus my car is a daily driver and kind of a Frankenstein of a car anyway. So I set out to find the S60 VNT and I don't regret it one bit. The VNT28 would make a bit more hp at stock levels. With a FWDP S3 VNT cal set at 18psi, I would put my 'guestimate' a bit higher. Like I've said before, there are 3 members on here that have road in my car and know how quick and hard the car pulls on a stock engine. I'm sure I'm above the power levels of a reg. VNT, even at 10lbs of boost. At 18lbs, the car is still building power hard, but I always back off. The 2.2 timing curve on the computer is too much for the stock 2.5. For me, this power level is fine for going to work and towing with faster cars. You just have to set realistic goals and shoot for them. Problem is once you reach them, you want MORE! This my friend, is called the TD boost bug! LOL

Now the motor that's going in my Rampage is gonna be a killer.

Really pushing it? I've heard of people making anywhere from 250hp to closee to 300hp on a 'modified' T2 turbo car.

I'm looking for something in the GT28 to GT30 size in a VNT. Anybody have any idea where to find one?

Also, what size does the S60 equate to?

I have a 89 CSX with a VNT28, cone filter off turbo, 2.5 inch exhaust with a highflow cat and muffler, running a FWD 16 psi cal with +20% injectors. Car put down 253 whp on a conservative dyno.
later,
Cindy

Hi Cindy, do you happen to have any flow figures for the VNT28? I'm running a T3 now and would like to move up to either a VNT28 or VNT30.

Where can I find either a 28 or 30VNT?
