What year is that? 91? Looks like your car already had the later model motor mounts. That's gotta make installing the 2.4 alot easier.

Yes, it's a '91. But I also did it on my '89 and it was still relatively simple, only there is some slight welding involved with the pre '90 mounts. Still not that difficult. I'm also looking at doing this on my GLH and so far that also looks like it's not going to take much.

very nice work how long has it been up and running and what did you use for the pass side mount? looks like a stratus at the block and a spacer and a ?? was the trans mount a bolt in?
I've had it running for about 3 weeks.
Passenger mount is stock Stratus attached to '01 Caravan bracket via an adapter. The Caravan bracket is spaced out to match the Stratus mount.
Front mount is a '96 Caravan. It has to be cut in some areas to make it a bolt-on(very simple procedure).

I'd also like to note that after the 2.4 was installed, all the angles on the inclinometer were identical to those of the 2.5 right down to the one hundredth of a degree.

engine block tilt???
do you have any pics of how you bolted the trans to the block? I'm most interested in how you delt with the one bolt that doesn't line up.
Oh and looks great!

I most certainly do.
Here’s a pic of the front mount. I added an “L” bracket to mate the trans to the offset bolt on the lower engine block tang as you can see in the pic. It is the bracket above the mount. I machined the hex head off a bolt to be the same diameter as the hole in the engine block. The bolt goes in from the trans side and is a press fit. The threads protrude towards the front of the block and through the bottom side of the L bracket. It is able to hold 100 ft. lbs.
The rest of the bolts line up perfectly. I even installed the support bracket from the lower trans to engine block on the starter side. The whole thing is achored at all six locations between the trans and engine block.
All this sounds a lot harder than what it actually is. In fact, after I had it all installed, I don’t think the L bracket was totally necessary for just a 12 second street car.

Hey thanks for the compliments folks. I'm going to go ahead and install my AN lines and the rest of the goodies since I know this thing works OK.

Here's the tool I used to check the engine angles for those who were asking.

I understand that you used an SRT clutch, did you look into using anything else? What was involved?

Ok, What about clamping that 2.4L to A413?

Second, Big_P got his tach in shadow 2.5L with A413 going again after blown tach episode with loose wire and reported that while in 3rd locked up, engine is spinning at 3,000rpm.

Third: I'd rather want to see if there is different gearings to lower RPM at cruise to around 2,500-2,200 target I hope to see.

Comments?

Cheers, Wizard

There is a 413 version that already bolts up the 2.4 and 2.0.
