I'm Going to start working on an intake pretty soon using a sratus intake and one of those medical oxygen tanks. I just don't know whether to go with the 5.5" wide tank or the 4.5" tank. Both are around 16" long and i think would work well, but what size? Im going to be using a 52mm tb.

Try to find a better Throttle body. A 65 or 68mm would be perfect

`Drop a mail to Dean S. he have one for sale last month.

And the 4.5 ich plenum is ok.

So the 4.5" tank and what is i good trottle body to use? I wanted to use the 52mm for simplicity. What is a good 65mm Tb to use? What do i need to do as far as cables and electrical sensors. the flange isn't a problem just everything else to get it to work with the wiring and stuff.

You can snag a 58mm from a mini van which should be more than enough. The bigger the TB, then you may be trading some low speed velocity at low rpm for more flow ability at mid and top end. It will all depend on your set up, but really if you already have a 52mm, and your building a primary street car first and track car second, you'll be just fine with what you already have. You can get 65mm ford mustang TB's pretty cheap, but have to make an adapter for our ais motors. You should be able to bolt on our tps sensor. For simplicity, I would use the 58mm minivan one if you really feel you need bigger than your 52 though.

Im building an engine which will probably rarely see a race track, and i want as little customization of parts as possible. I havn't bought a 52mm yet so i was wondering about the 58mm minivan tb. Will the sensors and throttle cable adapt to it.? Also what is a good year to use?

Should be from a 93 and up 3.3 mini van. The tps and ais should work with no problem. You can also find 52mm on some of the older mini's. Either tb will work just fine. The 52 may make a street car feel a little more snappy at lower rpm, the 58 may make it feel like it has a better set of lungs on top.

Cool, thanks for all the great tips. The hunt is on for a 58mm. Also is there anyone that'll sell stratus intake for $25?

Hard to find them that cheap, check the stratusphere website, it's the turbododge.com for stratus, cheapest one I found was 50 USD

You can find them that cheap. Hell, I have one but I have it slated for a mock up intake. Hell, if you search around long enough, you can find a complete head for $50. I have some Sohc heads I paid $10 complete. A Srt4 intake may work well for you too. They will cost more though.

are you stealing oxygen bottles from old people to make your car faster? That is cool and wrong on many levels : D

ha, actually i should have snagged one from the hospital like a year ago, i wheeled my dad out to the car and the wheelchair he was in had one mounted on the back. Never thought about it then. There actually not that hard to find though, probably get one for around 40 bucks+ shipping off the net. I've seen them cheaper too.

i think if you are building a car that is rarely going to see the track i would not waste my time building a custom intake. but if you insist on building one i would use a 3.5 inch tube with 1.5 runners with a 58mm tb. going any bigger with the plenum you will kill your low end rpm power.
gater
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!i need a 2 piece intake!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

low end power on a car with 2.5 litres of displacement is pretty hard to destroy. Russ Jerome has had great success with his 5inch plenum. It's hard to get too big of a plenum
