well finally i can say thats its together! all i have left to do is bolt on my tb, get it off the stand and put on my flywhell and custom clutch i had made. really thas bout it. i've done all my measuring and i just have to have time to weld my ex. mani.. thr turbos been rebuilt and its ready. ive got about 3 hrs left of work b4 i can put it in the car. and we all know how putn it in the car.
but im still gona be held up some couse i just got my car painted in early spring so now, while the engine is out, im gona clean, prime, paint, and clear under the hood.
let you know what ive got
*tu wiscoes
*dbl shotpin rod
*89 cb w forged crank
*custom intake mani (neon runners chopped off and welded to a 4" plentum)
*stock location on the dist.
*cindys plug wires (wish that i had goten Taylor wires instead, i like blue =) )
*still using stock ic and turbo for now, just b/c of cost for start up. its easy to change that later when i have a larger budget (plaining on early spring)
*stock semc
*fwds cam sprokets (which i had to take to a machinest to machine theim exact. i had one that would not bolt properly to the cam. it would wobble)
*i used a slightly different timming belt tentioning methond. i will post pics later
*put oiling holes in the tops of my rods
*jgs ex. mani peices. (still have to weld together)
*moved water neck to driver side
*used a water neck from a bow-tie 2.2 sunfire w/ slight modifications
*drilled and tapped water neck for the temp sensors, looks great!

i know i did more but who can think of it all at once.

i would like to thank everyone who gave me the needed information to do this project. lookingback i was easy but starting it was... well duptful. =)

cool man, good to hear the progress. what is your setup for oil returns? That was one of the things i didn't have fun with on mine.

for oil pres i made some aeroquip hoses. bought tu's oil and water for the tIII setup. they worked PERFACT! on teh press to teh head i put a valve so i can restict the flow and put a psi gauge on one of the oil galleys on the head so i could make sure i didnt starve my head. and for the return its self. i cut the existing turbo drain back down some got a compression fitting and put a "t" on it. used a 1" drain back from the head that came out near the water neck on the driver side, and plumbed it into the turbo aswell.
i was just reading and the more i read what people had done i didnt see it nessicary to put more than one drain back anyway. reasoning is b/c you restric teh amount of oil anyway, the pressure (via equl. tube) is the same from head to crank case, so gravity will do the rest. not only that but the more wholes, the more oppurtunity for a leak.. no1 wants an oil leak.

o and russ. this buds for you! you've help me more than anyone! between here and you site youve been a great help! thanks for teh wealth of information! and most inportantly not acking like a bunch of th hybrid guys not not giving alittle helping advice! Thank you!

Well done!
It's a great project, more should try it as it's very rewarding when you get them running and tuned.
Just a couple small suggestions, though you may have already thought about, while the engine is still out etc.
I personaly would weld a spare fitting into the oil pan, just incase you find the oil return T with the turbo to be restrictive. The oil flowing out from the turbo is pretty whipped up,and dosen't like any restriction to flow.It dosen't take too much for backed up oil to find it's way into the turbine housing past the little seal ring, causing a nice smoke show..even on a rebuilt turbo.I have been there a few times lol, makes you think your project went wrong lol!

Also,I ran a stock dodge .48 turbine with a ford .60 compressor,on my 2.5 hybrid, and I found it impossible to control boost, and using the stock smec, overboost cut out was very hard to avoid. The van also fell on it's face when reved, due to the small turbine etc.I built my manifold with both dodge and standard t3 flange bolt pattern's,and swaped the little turbo out for a holset hy35.Night and day difference, and this swap really made the project come alive! The holset wastegate still had to be opened up a little to control boost properly, but easy done before instalation. You could probably sell your rebuilt stock turbo for similar money to a holset in great shape off ebay...and they have no water lines to deal with, and huge shaft and bearings compared to the stock dodge.I also get a lot better gas mileage with this bigger turbo, and boost response is not much slower,15-18 psi by 3300rpm.

Oh,and we need a picture please!!!
