There was some uncertainty of how much more a 16 valve DOHC flows compared to an 8 valve head, so I figured I'd post this just to give an accurate comparison. Both heads were flowed on my bench within a few days of each other, under similar weather. Both were bone stock with stock, uncut valves.
The test is a 782 head VS a Neon DOHC

INTAKE
Lift - 782 / Neon
.100 - 45 / 97
.200 - 78 / 157
.300 - 107 / 211
.400 - 129 / 231
.500 - 137 / na

EXHAUST
Lift - 782 / Neon
.100 - 38 / 86
.200 - 66 / 143
.300 - 83 / 157
.400 - 93 / 158
.500 - 99 / na

The neon head also responds pretty well to porting. I've got one for sale right now:

Thats awesome, you can clearly see how much better the 16 valve head is and dont' forget, you have more valve area and a better combustion chamber.

That is one bad flowing 782 head. Most stock ones I've flowed have averaged mid 150's/mid-high 120's @.500 at 28''.

Every flow bench is different. Just like dynos. I don't think the head is a "bad" 782. The point of this was to show the difference between the two.

Yep, agreed 100%. I understood the point. Appreciate sharing the info. Just making an observation based on the numberous swirl heads I've flowed. I was sharing too. Were these heads freshened up, used, new?

Got ya
These heads were used, but were sand blasted and jet washed. They had stock valves also. Pretty much, they were identical to how they would flow right off the production line.
