No, it doesn't actually. I thought about it right before we started making the lines up, and then completely forgot, so the oil drain from the head on the trans side needs to be modified.

Just an update, and to put the pics up that went away.

Exhaust manifold

Intake - 52mm 3.3 throttle body

Engine on stand

How it fits

Firewall mods - no more heat/ac for me...

And you can barely see it when its all together

Yea, yea, I know its silver rustoleum, but I don't have time to paint it and fix all the rust right now.

looking good, what welder did you use for the turbo manifold?

I would do sidepipes for an exhaust.
I am going to start collecting parts this winter...

Beat you to it one pipe for each turbo -> one pipe out each side right in front of the back tires. I'll get pics of that after I finalize the mounting.

I used a small Lincoln MIG for the manifold. Welded like 1/2 inch at a time letting it cool between welds to prevent warpage. Intake was TIG'ed.

I thought it was going to be tight with the firewall, but if you don't need heat then the solution you came up with is great!
I would like to build a better exhaust manifold for mine, but I can't come up with a plan other than cutting the wall....but where I am I need heat,so the basic log will have to stay lol.

It was actually really close, I measured before I made the manifold and tried to get the upper turbo right against the firewall figuring that I'd chop it out like that for the exhaust. With a single turbo setup, it wouldn't be hard at all to make a tube mani that would fit. There's a lot of space in a van.

I would have had to mount the turbo lower than stock I believe, which I thought would get harder to make a good drain for it,and I didn't want to cook more starters etc.
The Holset I use has a large compressor housing that was making fittment a bit harder. My log manifold is cracking,so I may have another go next spring, might come up with some new Ideas.

I like your fabrication skills and the way this project is going Couple things strike me though. Are there braces on the turbos or is your manifold taking the full wieght of them. My header was and after a thousand miles or so, a crack appeared

Also you mentioned using 5/16ths to feed the turbos, thats with the stock distribution block right, it's restricted in there. strait 5/16'ths from full flow/pressure from the pump will way overfeed the turbos and it will push oil past the center sections. They need less oil than you may think.

Keep the progress pics and notes coming

I'll have to check the distribution block. One of the lines goes to the stock fitting, but I have a regular NPT-Flare fitting on the other one. Or do you mean that the distribution block is restricted where it threads into the block? If so should I drill that out bigger to feed two instead of one?

Maybe I'll be able to fire it up this weekend? Without intercooler lines and the wastegates tied open, of course. Anyone have a good source for thin aluminum tube and bends in 2.5"? Can't wait to hear these sidepipes .

And yea, I have some 1/8? angle iron cut, bent, and welded on the back of the block to the bottom turbo and one of the tapped holes next to the oil feed on the bottom turbo to the top turbo. You can see them on the top "Engine on stand" pic, they're painted black.

What type and thickness of metal did you use for the firewall?

I was pushing oil past the bearings and the simplest restrictor for me to make was just a little roundstock piece of brass with a 1/16" hole drilled in the center. With the right sized stock it can be put right into the oil fitting where the line screws into the turbo. Just acts like a little plug but the oil flows thru the hole. Is simpler than it sounds

I have no idea... I guess I should use a picture hosting site, my website server must be down?

When you do a 16 valve conversion, make sure you check your oil pressure to the head. Those lifters can pump up too far and hold your intake valves open... Wonder how I know?
