Hi, bad weekend for me. I have take a ride to begin tuning whit the Mega and see how the car run. The engine already have run like 30 min in the garage and don't show any problem..instead of coolant lost. Since i don't see any coolant at all around the engine i was thinking there is air in the system.

15-20 min ride, no overheating but it miss like 2-3 cup of water. SO i let cool down the engine and unscrew the radiator cap...Start the engine and OH MY F@#$ God!! It's like i have put a air compressor in the radiator..water slash everywhere!!

That suck, my compression test give me good result on the 4 cylinder. I have put a Felpro MLS permatorque gasket that is suposed to be a very good gasket. Head have been check by the shop and is OK.

On the frist start up...the engine have run for like 10 min on cylinder 2-3 ( wiring error ) do it can hurt?

Any tip before remove this head again?

Guillaume a tired Hybrid owner!

Maybe the head is cracked . Maybe one of the bolts go into the water jacket and needs sealant. I don't know what else it could be. How is the oil- water in it?

Pressure test the cooling system with the plugs out and see if there is coolant anywhere. Could still just be an air pocket in the system.

That what i have do also..no sign of coolant.. I have pressurise each cylinder too and no bubble. For the coolant i have used water only and Water wetter. I think to put a 50/50 mix and see if there a difference.
The shop talk also of air in the system.

Any other idea?

Put in bars stop leak. That takes care of small sealing problems.

Bars Leak! Oof! I have seen that stuff plug up more radiators, Alumnaseal is the same way. If you got a coolant leak somewhere find it and fix it right, pouring that stop leak crap in the cooling system is asking for nothing but more troubles down the road.

I would not put the alumiseal crap but the bars leak is great. I have put it in all my TD's for the past twenty years and am still waiting to clog a radiator.

Regardless you should flush and put in new atifreeze every couple of years because the corrosion is what clogs the radiators from the antifreeze acidifying and not the bars leaks that causes the clogs.
